What's on your Wednesday Menu?
on 8/30/23 4:10 am
Good morning and happy Wednesday before a long weekend!! Happy it was not 6 hours pre-op waiting but sad there wasn't a coffee shop or wifi enabled place to visit while you waited.
Quick post for me, I have two days of certification training so I was up early to do a couple hours of work, I'm going to get in at least a half hour workout before I start the training. Have to make sure the blood is flowing so I can be smart and pass today's round 1 of testing!
QOTD - pens but I mostly use the free ones that I still manage to pick up from everywhere (usually work trip hotels). In 2020 when the work trips stopped I did have to buy a pen which was weird.
menu today will be
coffee plus half and half X3
ratio yogurt
slider salami and cheese sandwich
steak that I need to grill
Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Weird feeling when you have to buy a pen.
I felt it with my car napkins. Starbucks and Chipotle were my favorite car napkins and during Covid I had to buy napkins; so weird.

Is it because you wear sleeveless shirts? I don't buy napkins because I always have a sleeve.

It's a guy thing. And it's hard coded in our DNA, because we all do it.

Isn't it funny how pens migrate in and out of your life? It's not like any of them stick around until you run out of ink. They always seem to manage to relocate well before that time.

Mornin' All!
Should be a cooler, beautiful day, so I'll get out and bike at some point. I have a pedicure/facial at 10:00 (the 2 services for 1 deal for seniors), and a PT appt at 3:30. Maybe I'll bike in between - or else bike over to the PT place. I met some friends for dinner last night at a new Ukrainian place and ate way too much. Really feeling it this morning. UGH. So light eating and lots of exercise on tap for today.
well of course I was approved for the first two courses I'd requested to audit. The history Dept always seems to sit on things. In the mean time, I'd turned in permission forms for another two courses, thinking I wasn't going to get permission to take the history courses - but I got the approval notices for those last night. Crap. So now I'm approved for four courses. I took four courses last semester. Not doing that again. Two is good. I think I'll go to all four on the first day and then decide which two to keep. They all sound really good, though (which is what happened last semester - I had the same plan, but ended up keeping all four! although again, not doing that this semester. I was WAY too busy...)
QOTD: pens. Although I've never liked Flair pens, oddly. My father always used those, and I never liked them. Although maybe I would now?? I really like gel pens. I need to get another pack of them for school - they seem to disappear pretty quickly around here. They're probably in the same place as all the cat toys (e.g., under the furniture)
B: yogurt with fruit, thin slice of Danish bread. Coffee with half & half
L: leftover food from the Ukrainian place (although I may have this for dinner instead)
AS: Ratio yogurt or hummus with whole grain chips
D: ??
have a great day, everyone!
Sorry I might have missed it last week being off but how is your progress of getting those extra pounds off going? I know you put your foot down 2 weeks ago and said you were on your way to reduce your weight because you were at the top of your game?

Good morning ~ Happy to hear the appt wasn't too long. I remember all the chores and tech support for the folks, it's pretty funny actually. My dad could mess up a TV remote control like nobody and my mom would get so mad! It was literally an emergency for them that would be a 1.5 hour round trip for me. Good times. Yesterday, I had the busiest, most productive day at work, ever. I worked late to get it all done. More of the same today. Work hard, play hard, right? I'm taking Thursday and Friday off. TOMORROW ~ I'm meeting up with SHEILA!! I have a ton of protein shakes, bars and treats that I want to share with her and what better place for a met up than Hearst Castle? Lots of steps and ton's of stairs on the tour, so it's basically exercise, lol. Looking forward to catching up in person and seeing her beautiful face! Can't wait!!! Another busy day today wrapping things up for my glorious 5 day weekend.
QOTD - Pens for sure. Red, blue and black for different things. I don't know the exact one I'm partial too, I think they are Paper mate gels? but I prefer the retractable and bold print vs the fine or med. I don't like odd ball pens and cheap skinny pens are the worst - total carpal tunnel PTSD.
B- coffee x 2, protein cold brew
l- tri tip
d- eggs, cottage cheese and bacon
s- Qukes, tomatoes, beef jerky
800cals, 97g protein
Treadmill work out done! I'll do an easy yoga stretch tonight, I'm achy
Have a great day!!
