Good morning ~ Yay for turning in your thesis - congrats! I had a lovely restorative weekend, just simple and productive. I have a million things on my plate but I'm so good. I am sitting here with a our little pup who isn't feeling well and very clingy so I skipped my workout this am to comfort him. I will do some yoga tonight because I do not want to mess up my streak! The treadmill is calling my name so I will dust it off, find a new series and do that tomorrow morning. Otherwise, I've decided to go back on HRT. The hot flashes have been bad, constant really. I've been living in the neck fan I bought for golfing in Vegas. It's been a lifesaver and I'm addicted to that thing - day and night it's that comfortable. Today is busy, finish one report, start another... I have a training downtown and want to run by Sprouts for a couple of things since they don't have one where I live.
QOTD - One horse sized duck if it were for survival, but 100 duck sized horses would be more fun. How adorable and hilarious would that be?!!
Foods:

l - tuna, celery
d- baked pizza in a dish using some turkey hot Italian sausage I made
s- Qukes, mini peppers, whipped cottage cheese ranch dip

Mornin' All!
we had a good time in Chicago Friday and Saturday. The interview for my Global Entry lasted all of five minutes, and I now have my clearance. Should come in handy when I fly to California for the OH conference in a couple of weeks. I can go through the TSA pre clearance line, which comes with the Global Entry. I'm hoping the pre clearance lines at O'Hare use the older x-ray machines (some do - might as well get some more use out of perfectly good machines), since I don't think they're as sensitive to surgical staples. Those set those newer machines off every time, which means I get a "pat down", which I hate. Plus I won't have to take my shoes off. Thank God. With my bad hip joint, taking my right shoe off and on is easier said than done. Besides the interview, we went to Manny's for lunch (a well-known deli that's been there since 1942), and I met up with a former co-worker in Evanston on Saturday (she now works at a university in Chicago). So all in all, it was a great weekend.
things pick up this week, and I have lots going on in September, too. I haven't gotten any approvals yet for classes, so I just submitted another request. This class goes from 4:00-5:15 on Mondays and Wednesdays. Perfect time - it's not going to conflict with anything, and it's during my worst time for snacking (late afternoons). Plus it's a history class to boot (Europe since 1945). Actually, I'd take almost anything just to keep myself from mindless eating, but this class checks several boxes.
QOTD: big duck. Fighting off one thing- even if it's huge - would usually be easier than fighting off lots of little things.
I need to stay on track today food wise because I'm having dinner with friends tomorrow night (a new Ukrainian place they've been raving about). I also need to exercise because I've been going over on calories A LOT lately (usually not by much - a long bike ride would have probably taken care of it - but I haven't done that lately...). So I'll also do that this afternoon. Weather should be cooperative.
B: plain skyr with strawberries, coffee with half and half
MS: protein shake
L: some veggie & black bean microwavable thing I got at Aldi the other day
AS: Ratio yogurt with raspberries
D: salad, some kind of protein
have a great day, everyone!
