What's on your (PHOTO) Friday Menu?
I always have a "book" with me but it's on my iPhone. I am not sure how much of a weapon it is! How many of you prefer reading on your device (phone, iPad, kindle, etc) vs. an actual book? It took me awhile to give up the physical book but now I prefer the iPhone because 1) I always have a book with me, 2) I like the back light so my old eyes work better, and 3) I can travel with multiple books without having to take up suitcase space.
QJB-hope you have a nice relaxing day. As always, your cookies are cute and so is your kitty. Love those pictures. The only problem with being a panda for the day is all the veggies you eat.... no meat right? You would be awfully cute though
My class this week was really good. It was basically educating on the signs of feeling overwhelmed or having experienced trauma. Trauma doesn't have to be a big event rather anything that causes a psychological and physical response to a situation where your well-being, safety, and/or agency is threatened. Being bullied, feeling overworked without resources. The physical manifestations can be the flight/fight response, increased HR and breathing.... Overtime can lead to dissociative behaviors, depression, antipathy, etc. The class discussed resiliency in broad terms and general solutions but did not delve into specifics. The breakout groups were really interesting. I would love to attend the 3-day retreat, but it is currently not offered to staff in my region of the company. Hopefully someday. DD and friend spent the time doing a horse trail ride ad shopping. The day before we all went to the zoo, a historic fort museum, more shopping at thrift stores and outlet mall. WE went to Thai food with my sister and BIL. Very good food. The girls went to Barbie movie, I went to bed early since I was so tired from the late arrival the night before.
QOTD: I don't think I would want to be any animal. I like being able to think critically, make my own decisions and plans.
Accountability went out the window when we went out of town. I could have done worse but could have done better. Back on track today.
Usual meals
E: yoga
Weekend plans will be yoga, yoga, and a $4 movie. DS birthday with weekend but he wants to do something special next weekend instead.

I'm pro veggie! I was a vegetarian for about a decade before RNY and I still have veggie burgers every day. But shhhh. Don't tell Grim!

Before WLS I tried to be a vegetarian but this was coming from the view that the only good veggie was corn or raw carrots. I had a very limited palate for vegetables back then. Now I am closer to that but do eat chicken daily along with yogurt and milk protein (Fairlife or Premeire). Now I like vegetables but still like a good steak here and there.
