We have the same Real ID requirement here. It was a federal requirement right after 9-11. States kept getting extensions. It was required over 20 years ago.

As Lisa said, you can still fly, but need a Passport or whatchamacallit if you don't have Real ID.

Everyone has to have the real ID for domestic flights or a passport. I think it is a federal mandate.
