Back in 1970, we were obsessed with a book called Johathan Livingston Seagull. Jonathon was a seagull who wanted more out of life then fighting over fish heads. He searched for higher meaning in life. He gave us advice like, "
- You are always free to change your mind and choose a different future, or a different past."
- Don't believe what your eyes are telling you. All they show is limitation. Look with your understanding, find out what you already know, and you'll see the way to fly."
He was a non-conformist and outcast from his flock but found fulfillment and the meaning of life. I wanted so much to be a seagull back then.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
I very vaguely remember the stir that book made. It was huge. Until today I had no idea what it was about.

G'morning all!
QJB - your cat and my dog must be long distance cousins. Even the way they stretch is the same. Your cookies are always a welcome sight.
Busy weekend. Some honey do list for DH to compensate for the time he was gone. And our 29th anniversary is on Sun. We always congratulate each other that we survived another year without killing each other. That's a huge accomplishment. We have planned a hike and a nice dinner for our anniv.
I don't know if this applies in all states or it's just in CA. We are told we need to get real ID, bcz by 2025 the DL we have will no longer get us on domestic flights. I finally got my act together and went through the online process to be able to schedule an appt. DMV is still in the 20 century and when they say download a doc the way they want it is ancient. Anyways, it took me about 2 hrs to finish the process and I have an appt on Tue to get the darn real ID. What color top looks better in the DL pic?
I know I'm his mom, and I think my son walks on water, but look at these pics and tell me if he is not good. These are few pics of him in Nicaragua during the surf trip.
QOTD: a bear, I love their life. They eat to fatten up, the go to sleep for a long time and they wake up skinny to repeat the cycle. Polar bears are my favorite although they don't hibernate.
My meals yesterday:
- Coffee
- Pulled pork
- Fresh strawberries, Pumpkin cream cold brew
- Open bowl spring roles
- E: cardio + weight, + 1/2 hr weights
Happy Fri-yay!

DMV uses a sky blue background. Color coordinate with that so you just "pop" in the photo. Also, if you have a passport (and I know you do) a passport card or global entry you don't have to have the real id. I refuse to do mine until my license expires because, as you said, CA is totally antiquated in their online process and after I struggled with it for a few hours during Covid I was unable to secure an appointment anywhere in San Diego County. So screw them. For now at least.
I tried during Covid too and it was a disaster. But now you can get appts much easier. I'm getting the real ID so I don't have to have my passport with me on domestic flights.
Good idea on a "pop" color against blue. I'm thinking yellow, while I still have my tan.
