I feel so bad for the staff with some of these drinks. Meanwhile I'm all "who needs PSL, when can I get an eggnog chai", lol

Tell her how much we appreciate the baristas! Not all superheroes wear capes.

How are you liking the Rising series? I got to number 5 and couldn't keep up with all the planets and people. The first two were my favorites.

Through number 3, I like it very much. There have been a fairly small number of people and places so far. But I notice the last couple of books are well over twice as long as the first one.

Mornin' All!
well i finally sent my MacBook Air order to my friend (he works for Apple and gets a "family & friends" discount) after reading every review ever published about the new M2 model and making about four trips to the Apple store. I read too many alarmist reviews but finally enough down-to-earth ones that convinced me that the basic model should be just fine for me. I don't code, game, or edit huge video files, so I'm not going to notice any slowdowns. The reviewers writing these alarmist ones are running these computers through the wringer, expecting them to do things that the Air was never intended to do. It's always been aimed at the casual, everyday user - NOT the power user. So I think I'm good. Whew. Looking forward to getting the thing!
I have an eye appt this afternoon and then I'm attending a birthday dinner for an 84-year-old woman I've known for 25 years (I think...). I really do not want to go, but I'm going. Otherwise, it'll be too freaking hot today to do anything else. Hopefully I won't eat (from boredom). If the urge comes, I guess I'll go to the library - or something. I can't afford any more heavy eating days. Too many in the last couple of weeks. I'm feeling it.
QOTD: I don't know if it moved or inspired me, but the one we discussed at my film group yesterday ("Take Care of Maya") was really powerful.
B: skyr with strawberry compote, coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake
L: salad, Ratio yogurt
AS: I'm going to try to have a late MS and L so I don't "need" a AS...
D: I have no idea what we're having at this dinner, but I'm supposed to bring a salad, so that. I'm going to try very hard to eat small portions of whatever we're having..
have a great day, everyone!
Nice to have friends who can get you a discount. Hopefully he will get a Turkish meal or a nice bottle of wine.

Good morning ~ Congrats on 99.9% that is amazing and has to be the best feeling!! Those cookies are incredible - that is one lucky baby! I am wonderfully calm even though I have plenty to worry about. There is nothing i can do about any of it, so I am just rolling. I don't know how, but I'll take it. I got up and did a 20 minute work out and forgot to turn off my watch until 30 so my exercise ring is closed, ha! It felt good, consistency and habit stacking/forming. Baby steps. I'm not ready for an hour HIIT class, but I have a 10 minute one scheduled for tomorrow with 10 minute yoga also. Work is work. I'm behind on my class and need to catch up. My son won $2,450 last night on a couple of sports bets - he is one lucky kid!
QOTD - Nothing! I've had such a mental block for the longest time. I'm finally able to read again just recently. Enjoyable easy-reads so I've just been reading one after the other from the same author. TV/Movies - nothing but the usual guilty pleasures. Looking forward to SK Holly on Sept. 5th with all my heart.
