Oh to be someone who considers 20 minutes of rowing and 20 minutes of stretching a "rest day."
We are not the same.

Good Morning! I'm glad you enjoyed the movie. Yesterday was payroll distribution day so very busy and it went by fast. Today I have some projects to work on and I need to get a few meetings on the calendar.
QOTD: I moved into a studio apartment. It had a living room and a very small kitchen and bathroom. We kept our mattress in a huge closet and would pull it out each night and lay it on the floor. I think it was $425 a month. I was 17 1/2, had just graduated and was married-yeah a lifetime ago!

Good morning, everybody!
A few of the obscure nutrients, like copper, get sent out to a laboratory, but for the most part my labs are done. To the surprise of nobody, I am not malnourished.
I'm so happy that Marilyn was able to enjoy the Western & Southern Open as much as she did. I'm a general sports fan, but nothing special for tennis. Sometimes I pay attention but sometimes I just root for the match to proceed quickly.
But tennis is Marilyn's number one sport, so she was thrilled. We went on Saturday and saw the two women's semifinal matches. First, American teenager Coco Gauff defeated world number one Iva Swiantek. It was her first time winning in 8 matches against Swantiak.
Then we broke for lunch, Marilyn went to go watch Djokovic practice and the rest of us went to watch Czechia's Karolina Muchova defeat Belorussian Anya Sabalenka. That was also a really good match.
Although the facility was fantastic, The food situation was not ideal. Between matches 11,000 fans were all trying to buy lunch at the same time. I ended up getting a charcuterie pack at the store (which is also what I had done for breakfast).
Marilyn is already making plans for next year's tournament in Toronto.
Leaving Las Vegas was on last night, not a really uplifting movie.
QOTD: I rented a house with 4 other guys outside of Boston. It was huge and cost a zillion dollars to heat. It was across the highway from a Dunkin Donuts, so on late nights we would go out on the lawn and yell "time to make the donuts " to the morning shift workers. brats. I got married when I was 24.
Breakfast: Frittata
Lunch: Roast Beef
Dinner: Chicken
Have a Great Day all!

Mornin' All!
we'll be dealing with, according to the news, "extreme heat" for the next three days, so if I do anything outdoors, or need to run errands, I'm going to try to do it in the morning or evening. I do have a "family conference" for my client out at the nursing home today at 1:00, but other than that, I'm going to stay home as much as possible. Exercise - will either be water aerobics this morning if I can get my butt in gear, or else some youtube video I guess. I need to watch a film for my film discussion group that meets tomorrow morning, so at least there's that - should suck up a couple of hours. I was also planning to make bread today if my stupid levain would behave (and double in size) - it's been about 10 hours and so far, not much. I'll try sticking it out on the porch. May be too much A/C in the house for it to do its thing.
I had a nice weekend in the Chicago 'burbs. Ate way too much, though. I did manage to excuse myself from my talkative cousin around 10:00 pm...I told her I was exhausted and just HAD to go to bed, but yesterday morning she mentioned that she noticed my light on for awhile after I went in the guest room. Whoops. Too bad I didn't have a flashlight to use as I read (I was kinda tired, but not exhausted - but that was the only excuse I could think of to get away from her incessant talking...). I'm going back down there on Friday for my Global Entry interview - and then back again Labor Day weekend for a family reunion. Friday may just be for the day. Labor Day? I might have to stay in a hotel. My ears get too tired staying with my cousin.
QOTD: my first apt was my junior year of college. I shared it with a female friend of mine and her boyfriend. It was the cheapest thing we could find - $150 a month, which we split three ways (most apts were about $100 more than that - which seemed outrageous to us back then!). It was in an old downtown commercial building - down a long hallway behind a consignment shop. There was a print shop next door. The place only had one or two windows, and I'm sure it was a fire trap. It had a 1930's kitchen and the bathroom only had a tub - no shower. And Lisa and Steve had to walk through my bedroom to get to theirs. We loved the place - but my mother was horrified by it. I wish I had pictures of it now, but people didn't take pictures like they do now - no cell phone cameras. I'm sure I'd be just as appalled by it now as my mother was back then. We had fun there, though - we had some fun neighbors (most of whom were also students) across the hall and upstairs from us.
B: not sure yet - maybe protein pancakes and Ratio yogurt. Coffee with half & half (already had)
MS: protein shake (with 1/4 of a small cantaloupe blended in)
L: Salad with Thai-style dressing (and 1/2 a small peach, diced). some kind of protein (probably more yogurt - or a protein muffin)
AS: protein muffin or Ratio yogurt
D: salad again - with maybe 1/2 a fake chicken burger
have a great day, everyone!

Good morning ~ I totally resemble that meme post Vegas. I'm happy to hear another great review for Barbie - I need to see this!! Your cookie idea sounds adorable, please share pics! Okay Vegas was good, but it's just not my idea of a vacation. I'm too old to party like that (I tried and tried) and to bleed the money it takes to do anything there, but I did have some fun. Until we golfed 18 holes in the rain and found out our return flight was cancelled due to hurricane Hilary. The next available flight wasn't until Thursday 8/24. Fun fact - Did you know that CA won't accept any one-way car rentals from Vegas? We rented a car and drove home anyway. Rob was going to return it on Thursday and fly home until my son graciously volunteered to do this. He is leaving today and will visit with friends until he has to return the car and fly home. Oh, and there was an earthquake in Ojai on our drive that we were about 100ish miles away from. And it poured (add tons of fog) the whole drive home until we reached the coast and it was clear. Boring, right? This morning will be transferring the airline ticket and getting Jess on the car rental contract at separate locations (both need to be in person for some reason), airport parking, car switch-e-roo and then I may just pass out from relief. I've got to get some class work done and I'm working from home a 1/2 day.
QOTD - My first apartment was in 1986, I was 18, $400 split 3 ways!! It was in a old Victorian with 2 of my very best friends - a lot of fun was had. We were the ones cranking the music and playing bongos 24/7, lol. I'm sure the neighbors hated us.
Have a great day!!!
