What's on your Wednesday Menu?
Good morning! We are really getting hot over here and humid in the afternoon. I thought we might get a rare thunderstorm yesterday afternoon, but no joy for me there. A couple of warm raindrops was it. PT was hard yesterday. I was working hard, sweating hard and activated my workout mode on my Iwatch so I got credit for it. If I am going to be required to sweat, I want credit, dammit. Really successful day on food and beverage also. But on the bad side, turns out small pouch days are because my gastritis decided to go into a major flare. Which is really weird because I have been so on point with food, and haven't had wine since last Friday. So I am not sure what is making my gut unhappy. Anyway, part of my diet today will include regular doses of cherry Maalox and and extra PPI's. Hate when it's flaring.
I've got book club today and have built in a planned day off from the kind of exercise that gets my heart pounding and me sweating. I've got 16 days straight in the books, and my knee is really *****ing at me. So maybe so light yoga and of course my PT exercises. Going to be a quiet day. Also, book club. The Tiger's Wife. I still don't get it.

G'morning all!
So, remember a month or so ago when NYDiva was still on the boards she mentioned the sharks near her are the nibbling kind? I sarcastically said we need the nibbling sharks on the west coast because we have great whites. Keep this in mind while I go into my story.
Belize has the biggest natural reef after Australia so you can't go there and not go snorkeling. We got a tour that took us on a boat about an hr from the coast to a mini island in the middle of nowhere. White sandy beach and one palm tree. That's all there was. They divided us into 5 people per snorkel guide and off we went. Beautiful fish everywhere. This shows my ignorance, but I expected to see colorful corals like in Finding Nemo, so I asked if they were dead because they were all shades of brown and beige. I was told only the white ones are dead, the rest are alive and well, thank you very much. I'm not a plant person but I gotta say I got all emotional when I saw little underwater cages and little corals. When I asked what they were they said coral nursery, they were growing corals. So cute.
After the first round we went back on the beach and were fed, in my opinion, the best meatball I have ever had. Either that or I was super hungry. In Belize their main side dish that comes with every single dish is rice and beans, but not the Mexican way where there is rice AND beans. No, they cut up the red/kidney beans, and mix it with the rice so rice gets this brownish dark red color. I tried to stay away from it because I knew once I take a bite I won't stop. So I feasted on meatballs.
After lunch we went for another round of snorkeling, always with the instructor and never stepping or touching the reef. He also told us the corals with white tip are called fire because they are poisonous. I'm bummed we didn't have underwater cameras because the fish pods were just out of this world. We also saw tons of sting rays. After the second round they put us back on the boat and took us to another stop where they call turtle alley. I swear I thought I was in Nemo's movie, all these huge turtles moving around and actually looking us up and down like "what you looking at?" While we were there a fishing boat arrived and threw the extra chum they had in the water. This is when I thought of NYDiva all the way in Belize. The boat people were saying you now jump in the water and will swim with the sharks. You should have seen my eyes bulge! I'm not getting in there with sharks. So the instructor laughs and says these sharks don't bite, maximum they nibble. I couldn't roll my eyes far back enough. But when I saw the rest of the people jumping in, especially my kids going in, I figured I better be down there to protect my kids if the shark goes after them. These nurse sharks (there were 4-5 of them) just swam around the boat eating the food and weren't paying much attention to us. At one point I thought one of them was coming at me and in my head I was screaming and back pedaling but the shark was just going her way and couldn't care less about me. About 3:00 pm we finally got back on the boat and headed back to the coast. As a reward they gave us rum punch and during that one hr ride everybody let loose. It was a fun experience, even swimming with the sharks, and in my head I kept apologizing to NYdiva and her nibbling sharks.
QOTD: wow, what a great question. JB, I would love to be your classmate at Hogwarts. But if I can't be at Hogwarts I think I like to be in the Midnight Library. I'd like to see how I would live different lives and different versions of me.

That story is the best, omg.
I seriously almost said Midnight Library for my own answer but then I decided I would probably be too stressed out by change since I have become such a boring, routine-driven homebody.
