The cooking competition sounds like a good team building event, but I am with you. I would rather get the work done so I can go home.

You had asked about the lemon cucumbers, what they taste like. They are not citrus flavored. The name comes from the appearance. They are very similar to usual cucumbers, but I think a bit firmer in texture. They are good.

Wonderful getting those papers done. You have really achieved a lot with this year. I was working in London in 1997 and everyone was telling me that I had to read this new book, Harry Potter. I read the book when on the tube which is what they call their subway. It was fun reading the book as I passed King Cross and wondering if there might really be a Hogwarts Express.

I organized an offsite training event soon after I got back to the US and set it up as Hogwarts. I remember making signs and posters, handing out some wands and other magic items and people still remember it all these years later.

Good morning and yay Wednesday! The weekend is getting closer.

Busy day for me, meetings from 6 am to 3 pm and my trainer had to reschedule to today, but she's coming here so that will be nice for me.

QOTD - I'd be a fan of the Gene Roddenberry era Star Trek universe -- people have moved past racism, sexism, medical care and education available to everyone, plus space ships. Wouldn't that be nice?

Breakfast and lunch will be whatever I can sneak in on my meetings so some variation on yogurts and protein bars, not sure about dinner.

Have a great day!!

What I always liked most about the Star Trek universe was its optimistic portrayal of the future. Most other sci-fi is more pessimistic, even apocalyptic.

I guess I don't really remember Star Trek. My mom was a fan when I was growing up and I just didn't get the interest in the show. It seemed they were always in conflict with other space specimens. Am I wrong? Maybe I need to check it out. What Star Trek would you suggest to a newbie to the universe?

I'm cool with moving past all the bad societal stuff, but you are not catching me in a spandex pants suit.

The fact that all these space societies have all agreed on one universal outfit seems like the least plausible part of the future, haha.

There was a time when I thought our planet was going to have a universal outfit of a t-shirt, jeans, and sneakers.
