What's on your Monday Menu?
Good Morning! It's a new week and it's going to be a warm one. My weekend was nice with some relaxing. We have a very similar situation with kitty eating issues. They aren't litter mates but Em's cat is on a vet approved diet so she can drop some pounds and help her asthma issues whereas my baby is pretty skinny and shouldn't eat the diet food.
QOTD: I use Splenda for cooking/baking and just like you I avoid SA because of how they make me feel.

G'morning all!
Back from 10 days of vacation that went by too fast. But we made a ton of memories and for me, as long as I have my kids around I am happy. Belize is a beautiful country where the beaches have that white sand you see only in the pics. Then you go inland and you see these lush forests with all kinds of animals. I have a ton of pics but I wanted to start with Tikal, that is not in Belize but in the neighboring Guatemala. It's about 2 hours drive from the border. We had hired a guide who was very knowledgeable and on the way talked to us about the life and salient points of interest of Guatemala. Tikal was a Mayan city with a lot of temples and other structures. Very shallow of me, but when we were going up and down those temple steps, I kept thinking those 6th century BC Mayans must have had real strong glutes. Our guide told us back then the lower class was about 4'10" while the rulers were more than 6' tall. So I was picturing these tiny Mayans going up and down those high steps with their tiny legs and couldn't help but picture them with very developed glutes. In Tikal in addition to the temples you can see how the city center was planned and in one place we actually went into their bedroom. Keeping in mind these were royalties their rooms were very small, bcz according to the guide they just slept in there, everything else was happening outside the room. Still very small rooms. For any Starwars fans we saw the temple IV where New hope was filmed from. Forgot to mention the temples are numbered 1-5. Such a beautiful place and you can get an idea how they lived. The sad part is that you walk by a "hill" covered with ground and tress but it's not actually a hill, it's a covered temple. When we asked why they don't uncover them he said lack of money; it's a very laborious affair to unroot the tress and when the foreign countries offer to help, they ask in return for whatever artifact is found which is not fair to Guatemala. So these temples stay under ground.
QOTD: I use truvia if I'm not home and can't use my skinny syrups.

When I went to the top of the Acropolis I just kept thinking that it was the precursor to Buns Of Steel workouts, so I completely get it!

I am looking for interesting places to add to my bucket list and this is a place I would love to see. I am restricted now to places that work for limited mobility. I can no longer do all of that walking and climbing.
But I am doing PT and strength training and getting stronger every day. It is amazing how much those very gentle exercises can do when working with a really good PT team. You look so beautiful strong and fit in your vacation pictures. All you hard work has really paid off, Sheila.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
Thank you!
To go up and those steps you gotta be in shape, I'm not joking when I tell you I was sore the day after.

Great pictures. Is that a Clif Bar hat? Based on consumption, I should have one also.
