Hello hello and Happy Lil Friday! What a weird week. I think I have been saying that a lot lately, but it never feels like the right day anymore. I woke up with today feeling distinctly like a Tuesday but since days have no meaning anymore, I guess it doesn't really matter :)

Yesterday was a nice day. I got a lot done, and had a very nice dinner out with my parents and Grim. Would you believe I had more fish tacos? Lol. Now I have a fridge filled with 5 leftover fish tacos from various meals, and life is great.

QOTD: What pets did you have growing up? We had various kitties, but the best was a black fluffy cat named Fluffy (who I named, thank you). We got her when I was 6 and she lived until she was 22, so she was a true family member! She wa**** by a car when she was under a year old, and she lost an eye and had a clipped ear, so she looked a mess, but she was the sweetest girl and always my companion.

Accountability: Yesterday was 1/3 of a Swiss Omelette for breakfast, 1 fish taco at lunch, 1/2 a fish taco at dinner + tater tots and 2 cosmos. Do you think I had over 500 calories? Lol, me too.

Today:

B: Protein Coffee + eggs

S: Babybel

L: Fish Taco #1

D: Fish Taco #2

Good morning,

Sounds like a great argument for taco Wednesday, there! Glad it went well.

QOTD- Birds. We had finches and parakeets and a ****tail over the years. I'm not a big fan, personally. We tried a dog a time or two and they always disappeared. Probably didn't help that the dogs were not the best breeds to have with small children. My mom also fed the raccoons and we would name them.

Office day today, and a optometrist appointment for an updated eye exam. It's been a few years and appointments are backlogged for just about every kind of medical appointment.

I'm off antibiotics, so we'll see how things go from here. To start, I'm grateful for the extra four hours a day to fit in pills. So many things right now can't be taken within x time of food or other pills and there just aren't enough hours in the day!

I can walk to the vision appointment from the office. It's only supposed to be 90 or so and I'll bring a hat to wear. A walk will be nice.

Menu today is more shaved turkey on a slice of sourdough, flank steak bits, protein pudding, a burger patty at work and baked fish. Include the various vegetables and a mandarin orange cup and that does it for me!

Cheers, everyone!

How is the FODMAP diet going? Interestingly, DH has had some tummy issues (never had WLS) and he was discussing doing FODMAP to see if that helped. Not sure he will, he seems to be having some issues with "stick-to-it-ness" with his eating habits. I wish he would so that he would feel better. I have also noticed that he is more irritable depending on how he is eating.

It may be too early to tell, and I'm not perfect. I have the Fast FODMAP app that has a good base of foods but not all. I might still get the University app but there were a ton of complaints about it.

I just finished the course of antibiotics on Tuesday and I'm assuming they were having an impact on my GI tract. Given the responses by the various doctors, I've gone off all laxatives including the Miralax, stool softener, and Linzess. I'm trying to get a baseline by mostly going back to basics. I had to catch myself and not eat the sourdough this morning since it's not GF. It's easy to digest but not low fodmap. I just need to share it with the birds.

Not sure how long the turnaround is from eating to symptoms and such for tracking, and I'm doing this on my own as a kind of elimination diet. Trying to keep it simple and start from there. I guess one of the good things is that it's kinda back to bariatric basics, just with some different foods. And I'm still struggling with dense protein. Sleep and moods are about the same, so far. It'll get there!

Maybe your hubby is cranky from lower carbs?

You may want to start really strong probiotics right now. To rebuild the biota in your gut, and prevent candida from taking over.

I've been taking probiotics daily but I'll bump it to the 80 billion critical care tomorrow just to head it off. Thank you for the call out.

Mornin everyone!

Not a lot planned for the day that I know of. I got some CBD topical spray yesterday. If I test positive for marijuana then so be it. They can kiss my you know what. It did help somewhat last night. I am going to get some tincture oil when I get paid again as it's pricey.

Get this story....a woman here in Texas was out in her yard. A snake fell on her from a hawk flying over her. The snake started coiling and tightening on her arm. Ouch! BUT the hawk was not done...it swooped down and attacked this poor lady's arm...it eventually got the snake off but her arm was torn and shredded. I saw pictures and it was AWFUL! This lady a few years ago was bite by a venomous snake. Moral of the story? Don't visit Texas...LOL

QOTD: dogs and cats. My most special kitty...Otis, I got when I was 16. He was my soul kitty. He helped me through my darkest periods in life. He was a chonky ginger boy. I loved him so much...we also had a black and white kitty named Merlin that lived to be 22 as well, we got him six months after we got Otis. He was a strange little guy but that made him more lovable.

food is unplanned today. Except we are making beef enchiladas!

here is a couple photos from my trip to the lake. For some reason I love the feather one. I guess it's the detail of the feather.
