Yay for stacking days of activity! I feel developing the habit is more important than the intensity to start! Good job!!

Mornin' All!
I have lunch out today with a friend - and an after-work wine "date" (well, for HIM it's after work) with a former student employee back when I worked at the library. I think it was probably 15 years ago that he worked there. He's since gotten his master's and PhD (biochem) and did a three-year post doc at Vanderbilt - and was just hired by the university here in June (his alma mater - he's SO happy!). It'll be great to see him again. I sent him a recent photo of me the other day, since a lot of people who "knew me when" don't recognize me. Plus I didn't want to see the shocked look and the hear the questions (although he might ask questions - although he didn't after receiving the photo, so..). Lunch out again on Friday (one of my film groups - we always meet over lunch) - so I'll need to really watch myself the next couple of days. I was actually shocked when I stepped on the scale this morning and noticed I was down 0.8 lbs from last time I weighed (last week - although I may bump this up to daily again). With all the eating I've done since then, I figured I'd be up a couple of pounds. But no. Of course, it could just be a normal fluctuation.
QOTD: for awhile it was the sfogliatella we had every day when we were in Naples (and it's not easy to find around here. There's a large Italian grocery store & bakery in Milwaukee, and they have it - but it's pretty pricey. Plus Milwaukee is about 70 miles away - so not exactly close to home). I'm a decent baker, but I think that's way beyond my level. Then last summer it was the scones with clotted cream and jam in Scotland. Had one every day. I did make scones a couple of times after I got home - but those feature a ton of calories without much in the way of nutritional benefit, so I stopped. Currently it is, of course, the Danish rye bread (rugbrod). I made another loaf of it last night. This will likely become a regular thing because we like it so much, and it's pretty "powerful" to boot - as in, I had to stop taking Miralax - both when I was in Scandinavia (because I ate a piece of the bread at breakfast every day) - and now that I'm making it at home. Maybe I should set up a table in the vendor exhibit area at the OH conference and sell this stuff (just kidding...)
B: skyr with 1/2 diced mango, piece of rugbrod with whipped butter and currant spread, coffee with half & half
L: I don't know what they're serving for lunch (this is at my friend's Rotary Club meeting - she's taking me as her guest)
AS: no snacks today (shouldn't need them) - but a glass of wine this afternoon
D: bagged salad and some kind of protein
ex: my Rotary friend has a committee meeting before the lunch program (her meeting is a 10:30), so I'm going to catch a ride with her to the place and get some walking in while she's at her meeting
have a great day, everyone!

I prefer the look of surprise. And when they asks what changed, I say "it's a new haircut". I have to entertain myself.

I would totally buy your bread. :) hope you enjoy your lunch and dinner.
I understand sending the photo. I just got an updated badge photo done on my work anniversary last week. They try to fend off the aesthetic requests for people who want an update because of a haircut. I had to go to the manager and explain to her that I'm pretty unrecognizable after the loss. Fortunately, she had gastric sleeve surgery a couple of years ago, which she shared openly. Unfortunately, she had it done in Mexico and then had issues.
Anyway, at least I don't get shocked faces in meetings now since I updated everything but the company website. I need a separate picture for that.

sfogliatella is my favorite all time pastry. I have a recipe but never attempted it. We are lucky to have 3 or 4 bakeries in the area that make it but my most favorite was in Fort Lauderdale next to Martorano's. Some do not do the cream as well as others.

Good Morning! I'd say 49 and fabulous my dear! I'm glad you had some enjoyment yesterday and that it will continue today. The concert was tons of fun but I'll admit I'm tired today and will try and go to bed early tonight. I have a pretty busy day ahead for work as well so I'm sure it'll go by fast.
QOTD: A queso dip Em and I had in Phoenix last year. It came recommended and didn't disappoint. Enjoy your street corn!
