What's on your Wednesday Menu?

Thanks for all the birthday wishes yesterday! I had sort of decided to postpone any celebrating until I felt like I had enough done, so... it's a re-do! I got a lot accomplished on my schoolwork, so today I am finally turning 49 :) We're celebrating with breakfast out at a local diner, then dinner with my parents tonight.
Yesterday, even though I had decided not to do anything to celebrate, some very sweet friends from OH decided to DoorDash me some fish tacos for lunch! They even sent Grim a burger :) Look at these beauties. Thanks, friends! This will be lunch today, too.
And even though it's not Photo Friday, I am jumping in with a progress pic. This is 49. It's not nearly as good as I looked at 45, but it's a hell of a lot better than I looked at 39, so...there is that. I guess I will always be a work in progress.
QOTD: What's a delicious food that you have thought about since you had it? Two summers ago, I think, we went to a restaurant that served "fried street corn" It was freaking delicious but we never saw it on the menu again. Anyway, it's back on the menu today and that's where we are going to dinner tonight! Yay!
Accountability: Yesterday I had: protein coffee, 1 babybel cheese, 1 fish taco, and about a tablespoon of black beans. I snacked on a few fries from Grim's burger and a few tortilla chips, but I was full and didn't bother with dinner.
Today's plan:
B: Protein coffee + diner breakfast (probably either an omelette or eggs and sausage patties)
L: 1 fish taco
D: fried corn + (probably) scallops

Good mornin QJB and everyone! Nothing better than a redo day, hope y'all have a blast today :o)
The lake was great and the kids had a blast. I wasn't able to get in and that really kind of bummed me out but we decided we will go back more so hopefully before the fall I'll be able to swim. I miss swimming. I got a bracelet done though and managed to not get eaten alive by the dang hoards of flies...lol. I got some photos but the area we went to didn't have the flowers other parts did so it's pretty limited.
Not sure what today'll hold. I think my mom is wanting to get groceries. They have chicken thighs for 79 cents a pound. My favorite cold brew coffee is half off at another place. I need to fix the yellow squash that I have today. I think I'm going to try it in the air fryer, lightly coat it in cornmeal. That may change.
QOTD: We were in Santa Fe and we're at a huge open market. There was a shop making fresh agua frescas, we had a cantaloupe one that was like drinking the equivalent of pure gold. It was soooo good. I have tried others but none compare. I don't get drink agua frescas much at all because of the sugar but they are so tasty!
B: overnight oats and coffee x2
everything else is unplanned unfortunately.

was the lake too deep to wade? I'm not a good swimmer and don't particularly like lakes so I would be a walk along the edge up to my knees kind of girl, lol.

I got in up to about mid calf. The only reason I couldn't swim was because of my surgery in July. The water was great which is what bummed me out.
I love to swim and float in the water. I am probably going to join a city owned center that has an indoor pool. I think it would help my back to get in the water more!

I agree! I am going to do a one day pass when I'm able to and see how the pool is. If I like it, which I'm sure I will, I'll do the membership.

I forgot to ask for a few good thoughts to be sent my way.
My left eye is having some issues and I have a note into the eye specialist. Hoping to get in later this week or early next week. I've been having blotches and little pin ***** like black dots that come and go. It's more visible in the sun. It may be fine but I want to make sure.
I didn't know it but Ozempic can make diabetic retinopathy worse. I'm really not happy I was ever put on that. I am upset with myself for not better educating myself.

Sending good thoughts your way Mel.
Have you also seen the information about Ozempic and gut issues?
