(This was on the wall of a dumpling restaurant that I went to recently! I loved it).

Good morning and happy Monday! Is everyone ready for the week?

I had a fantastic but exhausting weekend. My bestie, a friend of hers and I all went to a pop up 1980s Summer Camp Mystery Event. It was fun, we were not the oldest people there, and at some point, I ended up with the killers knife and just hid it for a while (not part of the performance but great fun). At one point during the "getting to know you" part, everyone was asked what their favorite 80s movie was and half our "cabin" had to google 80s movies.....but at least one of the people was just going along with the kids...or needs much better moisturizer, lol. (We did not have to google any 80s movies because we are old and also pop culture lovers).

Meeting up with a subset of my girl group tonight for dinner, one of us is in from Minnesota, so excited to see her!! It's been since our covid catching Vegas trip last summer.

QOTD - Any things on your "must do before summer ends"? I have been too busy to get out for many hikes so I want to try to get at least one in, and I also havent ridden my bike yet or used the grill. Hike, Bike, and Grill must be accomplished this summer.

I'm taking a rest day today. I'm trying to be better about listening to my body and during Saturday's rowing, it was telling me to take a break. Yesterday I did Pilates in the park, 20 minutes with the strength ball and 20 minutes stretching and it's still telling me to take a break so I will. If I have time, I might go for a walk but that's it.

we're meeting at steak house so filet and asparagus.

Good morning Jen and menuers!

Monday! New tires, new week!

And rain today, so that makes me happy. I don't want to lose any more trees, and we need water. It does mean I won't get trash pickup today though. They don't like coming out here with the truck when it's been super wet and I don't blame them. My guess is the creek is running, too, but I'm not going to the office today. I've got a "weather" clause that we've talked through since my road can and will wash out with crazy rain. I'd rather be stuck in than stuck out.

Jen, your social circle seems huge! Or you just get out a lot with the same group. Good for you either way! And for taking a rest day when you need it.

QOTD- Nah. Not much of an outdoor summer person unless it's before dawn or in the twilight. Fall is another story. That's when I love camping and hiking and biking.

Exercise - Elliptical and weights I think. Maybe some stretching. I have that wonderful mat that needs more use and all floor stuff now requires...padding.

Menu is shaved turkey, protein pudding, flank steak, part of a banana, blueberries, seaweed, boiled eggs.

Have a good day!

Ah yes, padding for floor stuff! That's a good thing although not very comfortable.

Good mornin Jen and thanks for getting us started today!

Not a whole lot planned for the day. I have a phone appointment at 10:30 and after that...who knows! I am not feeling well because of this cold. My cough really is painful for multiple reasons. I just hope this passes soon.

My A1c was tested Friday and it dropped to 7.10 so it's on the right track. I'm pretty shocked because while I was sick my blood sugars were fairly high even when I didn't eat at all, I am happy with it though. My doctor is probably gonna put me on metformin today. Should get the call sometime today about it. I need to call the clinic with the integrated medicine doctor to see if he takes Medicaid. Hoping so. It's at least worth a shot to try. My PCP said he does things like massage which I absolutely hate. With my back issues my legs are super tender and it really hurts me to have them rubbed. Though if suggested I will give it a go, I can't do my back because of the spinal cord stimulator.

a bright spot this past weekend is I ordered a pair of sketchers that were 20 dollars with a voucher I had. I thought they were just grey but the inside is a tiled image of dog heads. Made me happy even though only I can see them!

QOTD: our school system has school starting next Tuesday, the 15th. My brother and my SIL is off this week and we are going to the lake! That'll be our last hurrah of the summer. I wish the lake was in the mountains as my soul is need to see them but alas we're going to a local reservoir. It'll be fun as the kids have never been there. I'm going to charge my big camera and hopefully get some good photos as I still can't get into the water. My incision still has a few places where the staples were.

B: JUST egg bowl(3 tbs JUST egg, 4 sweet potato tater tot's, 1/4 cup spinach, 2 tbs roasted red peppers, 2 tbs turkey sausage, 3 tbs cheese and 1/4 tsp minced garlic) and cold brewed coffee x2

L: roasted potatoes and one small boneless beef rib(leftovers from yesterday)

D: 3ozs tilapia with sugar free pineapple ginger marinade, 1 1/2 cup stir fry veggies

S: watermelon, baby bel Monterey Jack, no sugar added fudgesicle.

one last thing. I saw this and laughed so freakin hard this morning. It's the exact opposite of the talent our QJB a has. It's like trump and a shark had a baby.

Your trip to the lake sounds fun. I hope you get some great pictures. My doctor tolD me that it's not unusually to see wild blood sugar swings or elevations when you are sick/post op so that could have been it

Love the photo.

Hey, take teh A1C. That's reflexts overall BS over a few months and wit your stomach issues - you probably could eat much.

As for massages - as long as I'm not fibrmyalgia flare, I love deep massage. But when I'm in a flare , even a light touch feels like a jub,

You probably have fibromyalgia. Touch, even light can feel horrible.

I do think I have it too but the doctors around my area are not so forward thinking...at least the ones I've seen.

I'm really struggling with all the junk food in my house and I know it is making my pain worse. My mom keeps stuff for the kids but they don't need most of it either.

Just found out that the oh so special doctor I was referred to has his quota of Medicaid patients filled.

That sucks. Can you ask them to put you on his waiting list? whern they open the list for people on Medicaid?

I have private insurace, but there werer a few doctors I really wanted to see and I was able to get on their "waiting list". But it was worth waiting 9-10 months to be seen by a specialist I really wanted. I cried after I saw her and she ran a bunch of tests and dignosed me with issues. I think she "saved my life and sanity". But it took close to a year to get proper dignosis.
