Good morning all and Happy Friday,

Whew - family is exhausting. I'm determined to participate in everything that I possibly can. Going to a Cubs game today is going to be really trying. Cubs' fan services has been horrible and made this trip barely accessible and I can't sit with my family because I have a wheelchair. They did offer to charge me an extra more expensive ticket to buy an ada seat for my wheelchair while I sit in regularly purchased seat. The way that the Cubs deal with ADA has changed my impression of Cubs' culture and question remaining a die hard fan. I can try to park in a Cubs' lot 3 blocks away that has 10 ada parking spots for a 40k seat stadium.

Glad I got that off my chest. So I figure about 6pm tonight, I can let out a huge sigh of relief that the Cubs game is over and relax for the night. The weekend will be going with the flow of family activities.

QOTD- I have broken one phone and lost one phone. The broken phone is funny. In 1998, one of my first cells, they claimed the phone was indestructible. I was excited to show people my new toys' attribute. I walked into the lunchroom, slammed my new phone on the table to demonstrate and it burst into pieces. I am so smart, SMRT.

Matt, I would seriously consider documenting your journey with the Cubs today and posting it to their social media sites with commentary. Maybe someone else out there is also struggling and you can start a movement. This is shameful of them in every sense of the word.

I am not a baseball fan, but I have a friend who is a secretary to the president of the MLB players association. If you want me to reach out, I can try to get you info of who you need to address about the situation.

It's wild that in 2023 an institution like you're dealing with doesn't have clear, standard accessibility plans in place to support ticket holders. That whole situation sucks, and I'm sorry you're dealing with it. It takes a really determined person to not throw in the towel given every block they're presenting you. Geez.

Ah, memories of green screen Nokia and Sony candybar phones. Those were the days. You remember, when pagers were still around and you had to learn to decode the messages? Hope you got a replacement indestructible phone.

I've been to, I think, about 18 major league stadiums. Oakland was the worst, just because it's dirty, uncared for, and being let go. But I dislike Wrigley the most. It has history, charm, and is kept up. But it truly was a ballpark made for over a century ago. Zero parking nearby. No lots, no garages. We parked in some guy's backyard a few blocks away, at a triple decker. They had the most minimal "conveniences" I could imagine. It's romantic, but utterly impractical.

Do they have some kind of waiver, being so old, that they don't have to abide by ADA code?
