What's on your Wednesday Menu?
It's a nice fantasy that costs 2 dollars. About half the price of a bag of chips, lasts longer, and doesn't cause grief and angst for the next month.

We talk about winning all the time but I think this was possibly only the 2nd time in our 7.5 years together that we actually bought a ticket. But since I am a month away from having to get a real job, the idea of a billion bucks feels more urgent, lol.

Mornin' All!
it's day 8 of the sourdough starter. It's rising just fine, but still not doubling. I read it could take up to two weeks - which it probably will here because of the A/C. Meanwhile, every morning I have sourdough starter discard, since you have to dump half of it and add in new flour and water every day. Since I hate to throw it out, I've made sourdough protein pancakes most mornings and some sourdough zucchini bread yesterday (that also included some baking powder since it needed a little to rise properly). Oh - and sourdough protein muffins. Made those over the weekend. Not sure what to make the next few days - but I can always freeze the discard for later use, I suppose. Hopefully when it's finally ready and I can make my rugbrod (Danish rye bread), it will have been worth it. It is taking forever. Of course, I could have used one of the recipes that had chemical leaveners in it (baking soda and/or baking powder), but no-o-o-o....I wanted to do it the traditional way. Anyway, hopefully this will be worth all the effort.
my brother moved over to my mom's yesterday and is still there. I suppose he'll be staying over there the rest of the week. That's fine - that way he can run errands for her, which will give me a break - plus she's almost 90 so it's more important for him to spend time with her instead of us. With any luck, DH and I will be around for a few more years!
it's two-for-one day for seniors at the beauty school today, so I'll be going at 10:00 for my monthly pedicure and facial (there are a handful of service combos you can choose from, but this is my standard). Otherwise...nuttin' - other than continuing to try to get caught up with classes.
QOTD: no. I'd be afraid the thing would blow off course to God knows where, like on the Wizard of Oz.
B: protein shake, coffee with half & half
MS: I should probably grab something before I head over to the beauty school, or else take a protein bar with me. Otherwise, I'm afraid I'll be famished by lunch time and over do it.
L: protein sourdough pancakes topped with plain skyr and fruit
AS: protein muffin or Ratio yogurt
D: bagged salad and black bean dal
have a great day, everyone!
Sourdough is delicious, and fun, but if you don't make something every day it wastes a lot of flour.

Good Morning Queen JB and Menuers,
Wow that is one fat cat. I am very particular about Rudy's diet. I wish I had the will power to stay on track as well as I make him stay on track. I think the secret is Paws. Can I get some Paws over here?
I did go to Kohls yesterday for the Cuddle duds for my SIL's B-day and they did not have any + sizes. I ended up getting my mother a pair of PJs she didn't need, and I decided to take them back before I came into the office. I went by the cuddle Duds and just so happened there was a size 2x so it took me 2 trips to accomplish what I wanted to do but I am done. I have 2 family picnics this weekend. I am heading to Walmart at lunch to make sure I have everything I need to make a couple dishes to take. I usually go all out to impress but I am just making the salad with the coleslaw ramen noodles and sesame oil. I love it and it is easy. I also want to make more zucchini bread to put in the freezer. I been making a snicker doodle recipe, but I am going to look for one that has chocolate and peanut butter.
QOTD: Yes Please
QOTD2: Me either, but we got another chance.

Good morning! Not a winner over here either. And I had so carefully planned out how I was going to use some of the money. And I'm pretty certain I gave the clerk an extra dollar by mistake and he didn't give it back. I felt like that was a sign I was a sure winner, since I was willing to contribute extra. But, no.
Day two with the grands was busy. One got to horse camp, the other one and I went to the park where I got in my workout and she practiced on her new electric scooter. She'll be "walking" to school for the first time, starting in about two weeks. Things are not like when we were little, and walking alone is scary. For the adults I mean. And the electric scooter is almost a necessity because she's got about a mile and a half walk and on the way home, it is all up hill. A serious hill. Most of the kids in her community have electric scooters or bikes because of it. Times have certainly changed. I also did dishes about 71 times yesterday, went and got my butt kicked at PT and prepared meals all day. Oh, and got one of the grands to and from gymnastics. Whew...3 more days left.
Today is Uber driver for little people, Yoga, cooking and cleaning. Did not get to the shelf rearrangement discussed yesterday, so that stays on my to do list. And a friend coming for dinner to join the chaos. It will be a really good day.
QoTD: Not for me, thank you. I'm really not good with heights. And untethered, floating away at the mercy of the winds and gods...No.
Bites today
B: last of the pollo asada and grilled veggies
L: P3 and pretzel/cheese Whisps
D: smoked tri tip and salad and a couple french fries
Peace Everybody!
