What's on your Wednesday Menu?

I am 5'2" and goal 136. My maximum to lose is 800 calories a day. And that is not fast, but usually averages a pound a week. Are you weighing every day? When I am in determined to lose mode, I weigh a lot of times during the day. It is what they say not to do, but it works for me. I do understand that there will be ups and downs but I want to see any "down" no matter how tiny.

There is a balloon festival coming up next month that I hope to attend. I was in Morgantown West Virginia once and did not know they were having a balloon festival. I was on a highway and looked up and the sky was full of beautiful balloons. What a great surprise.

I just looked into taking a Hot Air Balloon ride. I would do it in a minute. Before GPS, I got lost more times than I could ever count and just consider it an adventure. For the balloon ride you have to be strong enough to stand for one hour without any sitting and have legs strong and flexible enough to absorb the impact when the balloon hits the ground. Sadly I can no longer do either so will jus****ch the beautiful balloons from the ground.

I didn't know about the physical element. I figured once you are in the basket, you sit luxuriously with a bird's eye view of the world. I don't know why I thought there were seats.

Me too. I thought it would be like an open air plane ride. I imagined seats, drinks, and snacks.

My friend's son took his girlfriend on a hot air balloon ride and proposed to her while they were in the air. I think he is so romantic.

Good morning, everybody!

I am sure that there will be times over the next year or so that I kick myself because of this, but on Thursday I sent the big boss a note that I did not want to accept early retirement.

If I got the same package a year from now, I would take it. But this is our last year with two kids in college and I would be more comfortable working until the older one graduates.

I?m 57, we have mandatory retirement at 60. I?ve never heard of anyone leaving involuntarily at 59. So, most likely, I am either working 1 or 3 more years.

Speaking of working, Marilyn went to Orvis yesterday to get boots for our trip to Georgia next week and they were looking for sales help. She is thinking about applying for the clothes and gear employee discounts, but I?m not sure how serious she is about it.

Happy Hour today will mostly be planning for Georgia.

QOTD: From afar it looks fun, but I am afraid of heights so may get more queasy as I get closer to the balloon.

Breakfast: Corned Beef Hash

Dinner: Chicken

Lunch: Roast Beef

Have a great day, all!

I'm sure not taking the retirement wasn't an easy decision but the lengths we go to for our kids.

are you still working a hybrid schedule? I retired at age 58, but I think if I had been working from home, or at least hybrid, i would have been OK with working another year or two.

Every time I go into Williams Sonoma or White House, Black Market they tell me to apply for a job. With my sales experience and ability to talk to people, they think I'll do great. However, I'd be working to pay off my shopping debt so it's just better if I stay out of those stores except when I am searching for a perfect thing.

Williams Sonoma would be fun.
