Hello and happy first day of August! August has my birthday (a week from today!), and I am graduating at the end of the month! Not to mention I am going to win a billion dollars tonight. I think it's going to be a great one :)

Yesterday was lovely. The farm was located on this incredible property with zillion dollar views of the mountains. The goats were adorable! The weather was stellar. It was in the mid 80s with no humidity and bright blue skies. It hasn't been this nice all summer so I am thrilled. Today should be a repeat and as soon as the sun comes up I will be writing papers in the back yard.

Oh and hilarious update--remember those shorts I ordered online in early May? They finally came yesterday! Its a miracle! Shorts season is almost over, but they are here. Other than the long shipping delay, I couldn't recommend them more--they are stylish, stretchy, and very comfy!

QOTD: What are you procrastinating right now? I keep printing new cookie cutters but I hate putting them away and I currently have a pile of a few hundred that need my attention.

Accountability: We drove past the Hot Fresh Apple Cider donut place twice yesterday and did not go in. Who ARE we?

Good morning QJB and menuers,

I like your outlook on August! So much goodness. That apple cider donut would have been too much for me. Those are probably a third of the reason I keep driving up there in the fall. Still tossing around whether I'm doing it this year! Also, a few hundred cookie cutters? Yowza!

QOTD- All my house projects. I keep buying the supplies I need and then getting paralysis about doing it wrong. Something to keep working on since it won't get done if I don't do it.

Today is work from home, so yay there! I really want seafood today and will hopefully be making some kind of Red Lobster scampi dish or steamed mussels. I'm currently addicted to black mussels.

Accountability- Well, I'm still losing very slowly so working to find a balance with food and this medical stuff. I ate peanut butter and crackers last night.

Exercise- Baby weights. Stretching since I'm going through another Charley horse phase.

Menu is a ton of turkey on an English muffin, chorizo meatloaf, hopefully scampi, smoked salmon on Mestemacher pumpernickel with mashed avocado, chorizo peppers, seaweed, peppers, boiled eggs, blueberries. I keep planning enough and not getting it in. I'm going to open with a fancy cup of tea today, I think.

Have a terrific Tuesday!

August already, 23 is zooming by! Glad your day out with the goats was lovely!

I fell asleep on the sofa sometime around 6 last night and so I've been awake since midnight, whoops, that's not my favorite schedule, lol. I did finish a book and I've read the entire internet, I think.

QOTD - I probably should be working out right now but I'm not, otherwise, not really putting off anything.

So many meetings today and then I meet with my trainer tonight; I still haven't made it to Kohls to pick up those pants I ordered and I really need to go grocery shopping. I think that is my plan for today.

I started reading the Lizzie Borden book last night and could not put it down. I feel asleep reading about 2:00 AM and about 1/3 through the book. I was up at 4:30 AM so will probably crash this afternoon. Getting ready to go out and do some things but waiting for sunrise.

I find it's more waiting on places to open than sunrise out here in the country. Glad you're enjoying the book!

50 years ago I would be out running at 4:30 AM. I don't feel safe anymore out in the dark.

I run in the dark. I prefer it over the light of day. I do wear a head lamp and flashers. I am usually out at 5:30AM.

I think that is a great time to run. Especially in the summer when it is usually pretty cool at 5:30 AM. Head lamp and flashers is smart.
