Because you can't grill the outside of a side-split bun, some people will open it up, and grill the inside. It's just embarrassing. The grilled part is supposed to be on the outside, next to your fingers, not on the inside, next to the meat.

Totally embarrassing. West coast buns are just trash. Walmart will deliver split top buns to me for $20. It's not out of the question.

I think there are two different kind 1 mayo based and one butter based. You need to choose which one sounds better before you put mayo on a good lobster and not like it. I love mayo but prefer the butter based lobster roll.

It hides the lobster taste too much for me. But do not get me wrong. I love mayo way too much. Use to be my go-to dip for Mozzarella sticks in the day. Just not on lobster.

Me too! At the clam shack in Kennebunkport, when you order you can choose a pin to wear on your shirt-- team mayo or team butter. TEAM MAYO!
