I agree on the fudge, it is way too sweet. Even before WLS I thought that. For me, it is easy to resist.

Isn't it funny that even all these years out certain food items can still irritate us? Good on you for doing a soft day today.

If I make fudge it is really good. The stuff in stores is not that good. I use my mother's recipe which has unsweetened chocolate, German chocolate, and semi-sweet chocolate. She used to call it Million Dollar Fudge. I have looked online and found recipes, but never the one that she used.

This! I learned my family's 'secret' fudge recipe which I only make upon request because it's a process. The chocolate version I use very dark, good quality chocolate because it already has enough sugar to put an elephant in a coma. I've experimented over the years with different flavors. The stuff gets mailed in bricks all over the country for gifting, so it must be okay. Like you l, I've never seen the same recipe. Pretty sure my mom said she got it off a box or can like 50 years ago. But now it's the family recipe.:)

I think hers was from one of those cookbooks the ladies at church would print up for fund raisers. Two things I remember were the red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting and the fudge recipe. We consumed a lot of red food coloring growing up.

Mornin' everyone. Apparently we had a tornado touch down about 3 miles from here on Saturday night. It was just a baby tornado, but still.

Somehow I had fish three times this week. Somewhere there's a pig who feels its safe to come out of hiding.

I'm in the "you monster" category right now since one of the joys in young dog's life is to snag the tp and shred every square inch across the house. I guess it's just too tempting for him the right way.
