We have those competitions at a beach nearby, too. I know a family who does it every year, and they win almost every year. There are different categories and themes. When I asked her what the attraction was she said it's the family (more than 50 people in her group) gathering and celebration, and all the pre competition brain storming and communication back and forth.

That's nice. The only people I've seen doing it seem to be professionals who travel around to these competitions. And they seem to be sponsored. The giant "King Kong" centerpiece at this event has a giant Amazon and several other logos on the base.

I've heard they truck in special sand for these, but I have no idea if it's true.

They have ice sculpture carvings like that up in the mountains in the winter! Days in the cold making them so big you can walk through. Stunning to see though.

Jen
Good morning everybody!
Yay for a beach day, JB. When I was chatting with Kelly yesterday, I was trying to remember the last time that I swam in the ocean. I think it was in Texas last fall. I'm ready for another dip, but I don't think it will be until December.
We had a nice Happy Hour, but when it was over, I got settled into the couch to watch The Price Is Right with Chrissy but it wasn't on!!
So, I watched Corgi racing instead. The Corgi's are cute, but do not always take the best angles. It seems like one of them will make a straight dash towards the finish line but the others tend to drift. And one usuallly either turns off at a 90 degree angle, or outright turns around in the other direction and heads back to the starting gate.
After the race they seem to try and make themselves as long and floppy as possible while they are being held. I'm sure CM is familiar with that phenomena.
I managed to double dip at the gym yesterday, so I am back on track. Today is a memorial workout for a local firefighter. It's 25 minutes of Snatches, over the bar burpees and pull-ups and a 1994 meter run as a cash out. Should be a sweaty one.
QOTD: I guess a history professor or something like that. If I'm lying anyways I might as well throw in an Indiana Jones element as well.
Breakfast: Fritatta
Lunch: steak
Dinner: last of the egg roll in a bowl if the fam doesn't eat it today
Have a great day, all!

I might be a tad biased but I'd totally watch corgi races over...most things.
Upside down, right-side up, long dog problems! Mine would never make it to the finish line.

Maybe we need to expand our horizons.Id enjoy meeting Dr. Now
. Dyke God gets nekkid cuz she gets paid obviously that wouldn't be happening in Cali.
