What's on your Thursday Menu?
on 7/27/23 2:24 am
Hello and Happiest of Thursdays to you! Almost there!
Damn, I killed it yesterday. I got so much done and it felt so satisfying to cross everything off my to-do list :) If I can do the same today, I might be able to get to the beach tomorrow after all!
QOTD: Remember how George Constanza on Seinfeld like to impress people with an imaginary career as a marine biologist? If you were at a party with all strangers what would be your made-up career that you would impress people with? I'm going with Cheesemonger! I could probably fake it with made up facts about cheese and speak passionately enough on the subject for people to believe me :)
Accountability: 542 calories and yet the scale says I gained a pound overnight. I'm sure it's just a blip, but it's so frustrating.

Good morning and I can't believe today is only Thursday. It has been an incredibly slow week although I'm impressed that inspire of my brain thinking it should be different days, I'm still showing up correctly for all the things in my schedule. Brains are weird.
Yes, go for the beach day tomorrow!! Do you make your brooms sometimes soon? Is that nearby or do you have to travel to it?
QOTD - I write thinly disguised novels about all the people I meet in my career as a gossip columnist turned internationally best selling novels that you've never heard of.
So many meetings today, plus my trainer moved me to today from Tuesday and I really do need to get to the grocery store and to pick up something I had shipped to kohls (I think it was pants but I'm not 100%, lol).
In a nice surprise, one of the ladies I mentor sent me a box of home canned apple butter, pickles and blueberry jam with an incredibly sweet card. It's always amazing when you hear that you are making a difference for someone. I also had another leader reach out and ask me to mentor one of her team and that's always an honor.
menu today

pb English muffin with home made blueberry jam
adult lunchable (summer sausage and cheese)

Have a terrific Thursday everyone, the REAL friday is just over the horizon.

I would love to read your novels! Please make sure they get made as audiobooks so I can bake and read!
Brooms are on Saturday, about 3 hours away in Maine! Oh and we've got reservations at the same restaurant that we drunk texted CWO from on our way home ;)

I second JB on the audiobook of your novels.
Serious question: what do you do with apple butter? Use it as a jam if as a butter. I have a homemade jar in my pantry but I have no idea what to do with it.

I have a recipe for snicker doodles that calls for apple butter. I also throw a pork roast in a crock pot and add 1 envelope French onion soup and a jar of apple butter that I absolutely love.

Ooh, I might do the pork roast.
Your mention of snickerdoodle reminded me of this thing I saw recently. Snickers has joined the high protein bar bandwagon and created their own version. The reviews, comparing the original to the high protein, are not good. In short, they say stick to the candy bar and enjoy your chocolate.
