Mornin' All!
I guess I'll be doing something at the gym today since they're calling for thunderstorms this morning, and it'll be 90 F and super humid the rest of the day. Crap. I'd love to just walk or ride my bike, but not today. No water aerobics, either, as we're meeting with our estate attorney this morning for our every-other-year update. I guess it'll be the elliptical, then...
in other news, the sourdough starter I started two days ago is going like gangbusters. It should be ready in another 3-5 days. However, since I have to throw half of it out every day (and add more flour and water to "feed" it), I made protein pancakes out of the excess last night. Might use today's excess to make protein muffins (which I'd planned on making regardless). (the goal of all this is to start making Danish rye bread since the only place around here that i know has it is a Danish bakery in Racine, about 1.5 hours away. It's $22 a loaf, plus shipping costs if I have it shipped here. No thanks. I'll make it myself. And no worries - this isn't dangerous bread. It's so full of various grains and seeds that it's next to impossible to eat more than one piece. Plus I was able to give up Miralax after a couple of days of eating a piece for breakfast (which i did every morning) while I was in Scandinavia. It's magical... (and once the sourdough starter is ready for bread-making, you can store it in the fridge or freezer to stop the growth - you just take it out again a day or two before you need it to activate it again...)
QOTD: I was thinking that I haven't, but then I remembered that I worked at a grocery store for a few months when I was 16. We wore these blue smock things. So yes!
B: protein pancakes topped with plain yogurt and strawberry compote. Coffee with half & half
L: bagged salad and Ratio yogurt
MS: protein shake
D: black bean dal and sauteed zucchini & tomatoes
have a great day, everyone!

Oh my. Today I learned this is a thing! I'd skipped over learning to make sourdough because starter seemed like such a pain. This may have changed my mind! Thanks, George!
