What's on your Wednesday Menu?

Thanks, Sheila! It very well could be, and that's what I've been thinking about. For you and the menuers here...where does your "stuck" feeling happen? Mine is about three inches below my navel, which is why I have some confusion about it since that part isn't altered and I always associated stuck in the stomach area. Either way, you're right about the simple menu. I don't have it all figured out and I'm definitely trying to learn. Appreciate the feedback!

Yeah, your right that is not the stuck I get mine is high between my boobs. Also do you have a Maintenace menu that was provided by your surgeon. If not, I can post my programs guidelines to give you an idea of what was recommended to me.

Hmm. I do get that feeling higher up...but only after I'm having other issues and know things aren't moving. That's when I just stop eating entirely and focus on water.

I do have maintenance guidelines! Though maybe not a specific menu. My RD had been fiddling with it over the past few months to add in more healthy carbs and other items. It's pretty straightforward in general. All textures and types of protein are allowed, though caveat says not to eat fried food or drink alcohol. Protein first for 20 grams, half cup of vegetables, carbs if you have room. Because of what's been going on they've been fiddling with that because I can't eat enough in a sitting, so with all the doctor's approval I've been having 5-7 planned meal/snacks.

All of that to say, if you have a menu guideline and it's not too much trouble to share, I'd love to see it!

I know it is different now, but I did not eat any carbs until about three years out. I ate mostly protein and a few non-starchy veggies. I did eat strawberries and blueberries and added apple at about 18 months. I still restrict most carbs.

I would personally skip the grains. I don't think bread and grains are necessary in the diet. It seems like the dieticians have different recommendations for healthy carbs. I get my healthy carbs through keto granola(really nuts no wheat), lettuce, veggies and berries.

My stuck feels like a knife in the space below my breastbone and radiating down to my mid to low back. And it brings enormous pressure. It's extremely painful and takes hours to resolve sometimes.

This is what happened the two times I went to the ER, thinking it was Gall Bladder.

hmmm, I never considered it could be gallbladder or something. You trust your "gut" and seek care when you think you need it. I don't want no blown out gallbladders on my watch!

That sounds horrific and similar. Mine radiates up rather than down. Hope that doesn't happen often in your life!

Not too often. I don't really eat any breads. Go real slow on fries and rice. And meat that is not moist can be a real challenge so I will add cottage cheese if my meat is too dry. Pain is a great educator. Even though I will only eat 5 or 6 fries or a tablespoon of rice, they can do it for me. So I am very careful.
