Good Morning Everyone! Yesterday was a nice day in Newport, RI. It's beautiful there and it was nice to take a whole day off from everything. No such luck today, though. I have lots to do. But I think I will go to a Starbucks to do my schoolwork for a little change of scenery.

QOTD: Have you ever had to wear a uniform for your job? I worked at McDonalds in my teen years and had that scratchy polo that always smelled like French Fries. Then I briefly worked at The Children's Museum in Boston in Visitor Services and had to wear a blazer. I think that's it though. Yesterday we went to the Naval War Museum and it was fun to see the uniforms over the years!

Accountability: I had one fish taco, which I am guessing was 300 calories and I think that put me at 670 for the day.

Good morning QJB and menuers,

Aww, that poor kitty! I do feel bad for pets, though. Corgis are stomachs on stumps and mine would do nothing but eat if I let them. At their last vet appointment the tech came in and thanked me for not having round fluffballs.

QOTD- Yep. Like, five jobs that required uniform though my favorite "uniform" was the Renaissance festival garb when I was a busker for a season.

I'm taking today off because I've been up all night. Yesterday at about 1pm I'd eaten my spiedies and piece of banana and then things just went downhill. Now when my guts hurt it translates to massive back pain, so that was fun in the office. So was getting home. I'm learning though and just moved as much as possible until I couldn't. After about 12 hours, think I'm past the hump of whatever this incident is. Doesn't this thing come with a manual? Geez.

Seriously though, today's menu is broth, tea, and water. Hope everyone has a great Wednesday!

Thanks. I'm camping on the couch and walking laps. In two years, I bet there will be looking back and reminiscing about the x thing I just didn't know at the time. Soon! :)

I am not a Dr, and I know your surgery is different than RNY. But what you are referring to sounds like when I get stuck. And I get stuck on bread, chicken breast, and honestly most of the stuff you are eating even 6 years out. I'm not telling you what to eat but after all the GI issues you had maybe try and eat more simple for a while to see if that helps.
Hope you feel better because being stuck is no fun.

I was thinking the same thing. I can eat very little of certain things like bread and French fries. It just feels like death.

I can do sweet potato fries, in other words I can eat fries but I try and trick myself I'm eating a healthier version. It doesn't happen often but when I'm out and I can order fries on the side I do sweet potatoes.
Bread, on the other hand, sits like a brick in my stomach. By now I'm used to opening up my sandwiches and eating only the inside.

If I get a smallish burger I'll eat maybe half with the bun, and then eat the rest if the meat. If it's a big burger, I'll just bring half home. But the times I've tried to eat all of a small burger and bun I end up in agony.

Yeah, I try to be picky on breads. It's trying to find that balance where my dietician tells me I should be eating good carbs that include whole grains. I try to skip the regular breads and either make my own from whole grains or buy whole grain...or sourdough since it's supposed to be easier to digest. Hence my pumpernickel and Wasa crackers and such. I have no problem walking that back when there are issues, though. Is bread a pretty immediate feeling for you? Mine is a couple hours delay from eating.

Rice is my nemesis. I can only eat a few forkfuls. Fries also are not good but I can do baked or mashed potatoes. Any meat that is "dry" also problematic. Plus not chewing throughly.
