G'afternoon!

our cable modem died last night, and the tech came about 2:00 this afternoon to replace it. Boy do I hate being without it. I had to do stuff on my phone on G4 until he came - UGH! Needless to say, I didn't get any class stuff done or other stuff I really needed to do. Will be working on that this afternoon and evening. Since then, I have spent way too much time trying to find a used Kitchenaid mixer (I'm thinking mine is near the end of its life - I rarely use it anymore (but did at one time), but I'm wanting to start baking bread again, so I'm going to need it. I HATE kneading bread, so these things are lifesavers). I was a bit afraid to get a used one off Craigslist or FB Marketplace, so I started looking at new ones (ugh - so expensive), and then read that "certified refurbished" ones are actually quite as good - as good as new, really, and they're about half the price. So I ended up ordering one. It's a step up from my old one since I read this model is better for those who work with bread dough, since it doesn't "walk" on your counter while you're kneading dough, and it doesn't have the tilt head (instead, there's a lever that lifts the bowl up to the head), because those tilted heads can loosen up a bit over the years - which mine did because the head kind of shakes when I use it. Hopefully I'll get a lot of use out of this new thing.

QOTD: the two (?) hours I spent researching Kitchenaid mixers is a good example - I spent WAY too much time researching things that I REALLY don't need to be spending that much time on. I also used to spend gobs of time on Quora, but I deleted my account because I felt like I was wasting too much of my life on it.

B: protein shake, coffee with half & half

MS: plain skyr with strawberry compote

L: protein muffin

AS: chocolate "mousse" with raspberries

D: bagged salad for sure. Other than that, maybe half a Chik'n sandwich or some black bean dal. And sauteed zucchini and tomatoes.

have a great rest of your day!

QJB-I have those days when I am busy busy but can't really account for the time. Sometimes it is just the commute time between errands or getting my lazy but out of bed later than usual. Yesterday was also a day similar to yours but I can tell you what I did :-). Sounds like a fun day with a trip to a Naval Base, lunch out and seeing your favorite cousin's kiddo. Enjoy your day. Awesome job on the eating a weight loss! Woot!

Yesterday, I had a couple of MD appointments. I have a couple of pre-cancerous skin lesions treated. Went for a vascular imaging study of my legs, which didn't really show a whole lot, other than the varicosities I already knew about. Did I tell you my follow-up liver enzymes tests post-prednisone were still elevated? so not auto immune in nature. I am being referred to hepatology and rheumatology (this second one for a mottling on the back of my legs, which is why I had the vascular imaging test). Other then that I spend the usual 3 hours prepping about 10 days of salads (think 20 salads) and working out. I did not get to the weights, which I may just put off until after my mom's funeral service on August 3 due to time constraints.

Today, I was up early (3:45am). I probably could have slept more but the ole brain got turned on letting me know I am behind at work due to first, "working" from home while I helped my mom adjust to home life, 2-mom unexpectedly having a stroke then passing away, 3-a week of vacation. I was in the office by 5:30am. Then last week while on vacation I received a message from my interim boss saying that I won't be able to use my office until Sept 24 since the hospital is doing a big remodel. Last I heard was I could still work from that office but late changing plans. So, this morning I came in not knowing where I would be stationed. Still don't know but I did find an office where the person is out on vacation until August 2. Hopefully, I will have a place to work by then. I sent out some inquiries....

QOTD: Probably playing games on my phone. I usually play 3 different games while watching TV shows.

Meals are the same as yesterday

E: yoga

I was so sorry to hear about your mom (I had to ask a couple of people what happened because I missed (and later couldn't find) your post about it since I wasn't on OH when I was overseas - I just got the part that something bad had happened to/with you). Losing a parent is really devastating - my heart goes out to you!
