What's on your Thursday Menu?
Mornin' All!
I started working on my second class last night (to try to get caught up). This is a sociology class on "fatness". Oh boy can I relate to a lot of this. I think I'll focus on this one today and tomorrow. The evolutionary anthropology class is interesting, too, but in this section he is discussing genes, alleles, chromosomes, etc - my eyes were glazing over, so I switched classes last night. Good call - although I'll have to go back to the anthro one eventually (although I'm just an auditor - I COULD just skip over this section completely...I'm sure it's a great aid for understanding what's to come, but on the other hand, I'm not going to be tested on it, so...). Not much else going on with me.
QOTD: I don't remember any recent interactions with youth about "back in the day" topics, although your conversations about IT brought up memories of being a computer science major in college, and using accoustic couplers to communicate with the mainframe computer on the other side of campus (a MASSIVE thing - we toured the computer center one day. I think the thing took up practically the whole room). I also remember my first year or two walking around campus with a shoebox full of punch cards (later in my college career, we only had to have a handful of the cards which were used only to get the job started - the rest of it we were able to type into the computer via a dumb terminal using the aforementioned accoustic couplers. Boy how things have changed...

Good Morning Queen JB and Menuers,
Well I think you look great!!But I also know we only see a number on the scale and not the person in the mirror. I commend you for all your efforts. Best of luck.
Today is the funeral. I have seen so many people I have not seen in years due to my High School Reunion and this funeral. I am actually thinking if I ever get a chance, I may make a Facebook page just to stay in touch. The funeral viewing was awful. Very little effort to make him look alive. I know he was dead but gray is definitely not his color. My friend was a jokester. Always had a quick wit about him. Sometimes got him in trouble. He was working a new job one time about 10 years ago and there was a lady in the office that wore an eye patch and he greeter her with "Arr Mattie" His boss didn't like his humor and fired him. I think that is hysterical.
QOTD: At the class reunion they pointed out that the oldie station 3WS now plays the songs that were popular when we graduated. I also told my cousins daughter how back in the day her dad and I would cross the border and spend the day drinking in Tijuana and it was perfectly safe.
Accountability: Switched out dinner for Applebee's and had a bowl of Baked beans before bed.

I always try to avoid looking at bodies when I'm at a visitation because they NEVER look realistic and I want to remember what the person looked like alive. But if I saw one with greyish skin I think I would really freak out. Sorry you had to see that - and sorry for what you're going through. It's tough losing a friend.
Good morning everybody!
I microwaved the Brie for too long last night.
I do love a nice warm Brie. But I don't quite have the cooking time down yet. So yesterday I ended up with, basically, a puddle. With a sad, worn out, floppy old rind in the middle.
Of course I still ate it anyways. chased those little rivers around the plate with a Triscuit, and eventually snarfed them down. At one point I thought of going to a two Triscuit system, but didn't. I guess you have to draw the line somewhere.
Chrissy, I found Price is Right, but it was on at 7:00, so I missed the first half.
After enlisting the whole family to sign up, DD was able to get Taylor Swift tickets. Basically, she tried just about everywhere in the English speaking world. Her and Marilyn will be going to Scotland next summer for a trip and the concert.
I met the new owners of our gym yesterday. They seem nice. August 12 is a Deadlift and Bourbon event, but I will be away at fly rod building. I did some nice box jumps yesterday, 24 inches and I could have gone higher. A little spring in my step, I guess.
QOTD: Just yesterday I was taking about the old days of wearing shoes in the office.
Breakfast: Protein bar
Lunch: sandwich
dinner: steak
Have a great day, all!

Hopefully we'll be able to watch next week. I did catch the second half of let's make a deal. The lady didn't win the deal of the day. And her prize was less than her original win. Too bad.
Oh next time try 25 seconds on the brie and add 10 seconds every time till you get it right. It is a matter of seconds not minutes.
