They took ours away about a year ago. The voicemail response expectations went from days to minutes to wait someone called me?

I worked for EDS when voicemail started. Ross Perot told us that nobody at EDS would ever use voicemail and we were to continue to answer any phone call before the third ring. I remember one Saturday morning when we all decided to be defiant, put the phone on voicemail, and left the office for about an hour.

When I was first looking for a job in computers, I was on an interview once and was told that the owner of the company was never going to have one of those things in his business. Accounting would continue to be done on an adding machine and reports would continue to be typed. I remember about 1984 having fax machine training class. Heck, I remember in 1967, having training on how to run a copy machine and very strict rules that no one was to use the machine to take personal pictures of body parts.

The machine was leased from Xerox and they charged us for each copy made. There were no security cameras back in the 1960's and every once in a while someone would sneak in at night and leave bare butt picture on the Xerox machine.

Even into the 1980s you couldn't buy a copy machine, they had to be leased from Xerox.

I remember those brown inter departmental envelopes.
Speaking of faxes, DH and I thought we were so advanced that while long distance relationship-ing we were faxing our letters to each other instead of mailing. That was back in 1991-1993. He had email but I didn't, and everytime he put :) or a ;) I couldn't figure out what they were until I finally asked him.

Good morning QJB and menuers,

Happy surgiversary! It truly is a journey. Coming from one of your local resident faceblind people (Hala, are you out there? ), your before is unrecognizable! Congrats on your commitment and not cheating. It's so hard!

Today I'm taking a pill with 24 little markers in it to track through my colon. That means five days of no Miralax, laxatives or stool softeners, then an x-ray Tuesday to see where they are in my system. Good times.

The road out from my house will be closed from 8-5 today and I don't know why, so need to get out of here in a bit and hope they're punctual.

QOTD- Yesterday it came up in our meeting that my 22 year anniversary with the company is this month. There were a lot of comparisons to how things were done in 2001 versus now. Technological advances are quite breathtaking when you think about it. And now...AI. I do remember floppy disks, including the actual floppy ones. Ha.

Accountability- Sigh. With so much travel Yesterday my menu was too evening heavy. Goof on protein. I'm sore today, too. Lots of standing during tours of the center.

Exercise- Samesies.

Menu - tracker pill with tea, banana, seaweed, whole wheat English muffin topped with turkey and cheese, pork loin, chicken breast or burger patty with asparagus, cherries, maybe roast beast.

Happy Thursday all!

Good mornin everyone! Hope you're all doing well. Happy surgiversary QJB! You look great and you're doing great getting back to where you're most comfortable.

Not sure what today'll look like. I am really sore today so I'm hoping for not much.

I started doing a bit of intermittent fasting. Only 12 hours right now, every other day. I'm on second fast right now. 7 pm to 7 am. Hoping I'll maintain this weight loss and ad to it.

QOTD: with my nieces and nephew around it happens a lot. I told them about dial up and always getting booted off and what not. How long it used to take to download music. They simply don't get it.

B: going to try some JUST egg so a small egg bowl with potatoes O'Brien, turkey sausage and a bit of cheese

L: not sure, maybe some chicken or something and protein pudding

D: ????

menu - small problem cant eat . Dont know why . I pay for food then cant touch it :( . All i can eat / drink is soup .
