What's on your Wednesday Menu?

Good Morning! Wednesday already? Yikes. I made 68 very detailed baby shower cookies yesterday. I worked from 5am - 6pm with a 3 hours break mid-day for an appointment. Back at it this morning for another 3 dozen! Then I should probably do some school work. I am definitely a little behind on that. Eep.

QOTD: Do you have a favorite cookbook? I used to love one of the Moosewood cookbooks, but I haven't cracked a cookbook in years. I really don't cook anymore and I am finally admitting that I am living a "grab-a-babybel-cheese" life and not a "cook-a-gourmet-meal" life and no longer need either cookbooks, nor ingredients.

Accountability: Still on it. 542 calories yesterday.

Add subtract for the amount of hair on my head and that meme is me.

QOTD - I love cookbooks, I read them like novels-- on the other hand, I never follow a recipe exactly, they are for guidelines and ideas, I think that's why I liked the science and testing based ones the most. . My first favorite cookbook and the one I'm using frequently now.

I have a bonus day in the office today as I'm helping to host one of our BRGs (AAPI) events in honor of Ocean Day so that will be fun. Rest day from exercise unless I do some stretching tonight after I get home, supposed to meet a friend for dinner but we're on our 3rd reschedule so we will see if that happens.

menu today

coffee plus half and half X3

ham and cheese on pretzel slider

whatever we are serving at the event for lunch but I will have a barebells bar just in case

tri tip or roast turkey breast for dinner

Have a fantastic day everyone!

Good morning QJB and menuers,

You're making the most of your time! Hope the appointment went well.

QOTD- nope. I had a bread cookbook about 20 years ago and I have a little recipe box where I collect things. My mom keeps asking where I find recipes and which site I use. There isn't just one but I read through a lot when I find a site that resonates. I don't follow recipes these days and tend to use them as a base for ideas and what I want.

I got an appointment with my GI doctor this afternoon. If I'm being honest, I'm on the struggle bus at work and am falling more and more behind. It's not good but I'm trying. Today I'm going to an opening event and that will take a few hours. Then office.

Yesterday I signed up for plastic surgery consultations at the OH conference. I'm curious if anyone on the menu crew who has had procedures done has had issues with debridement. It's one of the major things I worry about.

Need to get the spiedies in to marinate for this weekend.

Accountability- forgot my breakfast food yesterday and went way off piste for food but got in protein.

Exercise- Walking and body weight routine

Menu - banana, pork loin with gravy, scoop of sweet potatoes, rambutan, blueberries, seaweed, a chicken sausage, hopefully smoked salmon on Mestemacher pumpernickel, chopped beef cooked with peppers.

Happy Wednesday everyone!

I had three plastic surgeries (lower body lift, then breast/arm lift, then face/neck lift). I had some "suture spitting" with my arms (which can be painful!), but other than that, I don't remember any issues.

debridement? Not sure what you're referring to. Debridement is when they remove the top layer of a wound that is not letting it heal so that they can treat the wound from the wound bed. My incision dehisced and it took me 6 months to heal. Still would not change it for the world.

You're correct. Wrong word for my 5am brain. I free-associated the D words.

Thank you for sharing, though that's scary! I'm glad you healed up.

Study's show people who have skin removal are more successful than those who don't. Also, clothes fit much nicer when you're not trying to hide skin.

Good mornin everyone. Hoping today finds you well.

Not a lot planned as far as I know. We got up to 105° yesterday and might get to that today too. I wish for a place that has cool but not cold temps year round. Let's face it...not happening with climate change.

I think(and pray) my stomach issue is resolving. I'm hoping the doubled omeprazole is doing the trick. It still feels upset but nothing like before...almost like a nervous stomach feeling.

QOTD: I used to love em. I only follow exactly baking recipes...at least the first time. This weekend I am making sesame and orange chicken for my mom's birthday. I have made it before but there is a basic recipe I found online. I change it up a little bit. I used to love baking a lot but now that I don't eat a lot of that stuff I don't bake a lot.

Food is terribly unplanned. Yogurt is a sure thing but who knows what else.
