that's exactly why I like being in hospitals! You can lie in bed and watch TV all day (and they have cable, which we don't) and if you want a beverage or a snack, you can push a button to get someone's attention, and they'll bring it to you. As long as I'm not too sick or feeling like crap, being in a hospital is great!

I'd probably go to a hotel and order room service instead. Cheaper and saves the highly trained medical staff for the sick people.

Your hospital stay sounds much different! No check-ins every two hours with shots and blood draws and glucose testing and vitals. I think they're on a mission to make sure sleep doesn't happen. Hmm.

I hope you're feeling better but nothing worse than when they can't give you a diagnosis. Did they notify you bariatric clinic and consult with them. Hope it clears up soon whatever it is.,

Ouch, that sounds scary and very much like my experience about 2-3 years ago. If you still have your gallbladder, have your PCP schedule you for a thorough ultrasound. That was the only way they could figure it out on me. At ER they did all the tests they did on you and gave me a clean bill. While eventually they had to take my gallbladder out.

that sounds terrible - do they know for sure that that's what it was (i.e., something got stuck)?

They don't know. When I had this a couple of years ago I went back for a second ultrasound and they didn't see anything.

So sorry to hear about what you're having happen, Jim. It's odd that testing didn't show anything since you eating triggered it again. I'm glad they got you discharged. Did they give you any treatment plan, or give you meat tenderizer?

No, I think they were sticking with the rather unconvincing virus angle.
