Yikes! So sorry you had to deal with all of that and I too am glad you are home! Hospitals are certainly no fun in any way.

When I had my surgery there were still a lot of lapband patients in my support group. They were always advised to cut food into tiny pieces and chew well before swallowing. Getting food stuck is very painful and sometimes surgery is required.

One of the rather interesting ones that my surgeon talked about involved a lady who was eating soup and swallowed a bay leaf. It stuck right on the opening to her stomach above the lapband and required surgery to remove it.

You probably did have a blockage and was a food that finally broke up. I am glad it is over.

Happy to hear that you're ok. Also, that your hospital stay was short lived but no one likes being in the hospital for even one minute.

I beg to differ this sounds crazy, but I like the hospital. It is the only time no one is asking me to do anything, and they leave me alone. It is like a vacation to me.

I always enjoyed donating platelets. Three hours in a recliner, watch a movie, they'll bring you cookies and a beverage, even a heated towel if you wanted. And all they wanted in return was some blood. Seemed like a great trade to me.
