What's on your Monday Menu?
Good morning gang. We had a nice relaxing day here. We spent Saturday at my brother's place, and it was nice and relaxing. He had his new shed and chicken coop, and they're talking about getting goats. I assume, when that happens, JB will be moving into the shed.
QOTD: I find these patently unfair. She asks a question and answers it before I can. But, in addition to our broom making class, we have a three day conference on the Shakers we are going to the first weekend in August. It looks like a great mix of academics and collectors. Its being held at the Shaker Village in Enfield NH. I hope its not under water. I'm excited.

Oh man, Grim, you're really opening yourself to scorn from all females with the JB in the chicken coop comment. Are you saying that women are possessions and chicken heads that need to be caged? Shame, shame, I know your name.

Good morning everybody!
Tough weekend for me. Friday was CrossFit and then a tornado warning. That was actually the best part.
I woke up Saturday and did my normal breakfast and reading my paper, went to the gym. My stomach kind of hurt while I was at the gym. I came home, ate two bites and developed a horrible pain in my abdomen, radiating around to my back.
I had this pain once before and there was some thought that it might be gallbladder related. So we went to the ER. After 4 hours of waiting, and unproductive vomiting attempts, they were able to see me. They did bloodwork, EKG, chest X- Ray and CT scan. Everything looked fine.
Since I had stopped hurting at that point, they said I could leave, but after some further discussion we decided that I should try and eat something first. Sure enough, that brought the pain and gagging back.
So, they admitted me. The internist said that it could be a virus and that they do give rise to the levels of pain that I was having. But I think Marilyn might have hit on it because, she asked me if something could have gotten stuck. I know that others here have had that happen and it's very painful.
Also, my blood pressure was sky high, but I think that was just the pain and stress. By Sunday morning, I was feeling better. Ate some yogurt and watched Wimbledon with Marilyn. They said they if I could keep lunch down, I could go home.
My son picked me up at about 3:30. It was nice to sleep in my own bed without anyone coming in at 3:30 AM to check my vitals.
For today, I am going to stick with soft foods: soup, yogurt, pasta, etc. Taking a day off from the gym also.
QOTD: My next adventure is my Bamboo fly rod building class the second week of August. I am going to build a 9 weight, 8 foot rod for Sal****er. I think the class may be near Hilary, but she hasn't been around much to check.
Have a great day, all!
