You turned down a lobster roll? Are you feeling ok?

Not much planned for the weekend since the weather is going to be rainy, but we might go shore fishing tomorrow morning before the rain comes in.

Had an amazing agility class last night with Meisha. The both of us did so good. She slept like a rock at the end of the bed all night. The thunderstorm didn't even wake her.

Did you all hear about Lisa Marie Presley? Her death was supposedly due to complications from bariatric surgery years ago. I didn't even know she had any type of WLS.

QOTD: So I work for a waste to energy plant which is a type of power plant. We get 800 plus tons of MSW or household trash in M-S. The trash is burned in our two big boilers which heats up boiler tubes and produces steam which in turn is sent through the turbine and produces electricity that is sent out to the grid. So many people think that the "smoke" they see coming out of our stack and cooling tower is toxic, but in reality it is just excess steam nothing toxic about it. In the warm months you can't even see it, but in the cold months you can because well the air is cold and the steam is hot. People also think the ash residue that is left over from burning the trash is also toxic, but it is not. We are so regulated by the EPA and CT DEEP it is crazy. I'm always trying to educate people about the process, but some just don't want to hear. Hey send the trash to landfills and pollute the ground instead of burning it and using it for power.

B: coffee

L: Trying these new chicken sausages that are supposed to taste like a burrito

D: Not sure, but we usually have some sort of seafood on Fridays

Have a wonderful day everyone.

The ash gets trucked to one of the two ash landfill sites in CT and MA. There is a special liner placed down kind of like a containment system. This is because of the pushback from residents in Putnam and Shrewsbury that insisted it contaminates the ground and groundwater. It doesn't, but the liner is inexpensive so to give them piece of mind we put it down. Both ash landfills are monitored every 4 hours also again to ensure and give the surrounding residents piece of mind. For every 20ton of trash that comes to the plant it produces 200lbs of ash. An ash landfill can be open and last longer than a trash landfill and there is no methane gas that is normally produced with the decomposition of trash.

Millbury, Saugus, and North Andover Massachusetts all have waste to energy plants with Saugus being the oldest build in 1974. All the plants do free tours for anyone interested.

That is interesting facts and seems to be a good use for the waste. What do people think about the steam contributing to "global warming"?

I honestly don't know. That has never been mentioned before, maybe because it dissipates rather quickly.

That is fascinating, I was reading a few weeks ago that we are starting to use bio mass and other combustibles more for our energy, but it's still a small % of the 37% we get from non-coal sources.

Good mornin everyone. Hope y'all are ready for a good weekend.

I am feeling quite a bit better this morning. Yesterday was a wasted day. I went to see a NP at the clinic I go to. He was so full of himself. Insisted it was just situational. This or that can cause nausea blah blah. He wouldn't listen about the burning or anything else for that matter. I left frustrated and angry. I have a note into my surgeon to see if I can get in to see him soon. I've now lost 35 or so pounds.

Not a lot planned for the day. We have today off from the kids. I might wash my bedding but that's about as ambitious as I can get.

QOTD: most people assume that chainmaille is just about armor. They don't know about the jewelry side of it!
