Good morning everybody!

QJB, I'm glad to hear that the party went smoothly. You guys look great.

Rocky Mountain National Park was amazing. I went to the wrong entrance and had a little stress about the timed entrance, but managed to make it in with about a half an hour to spare in my window.

I didn't have the pass to go where people suggested that I hike, so I ended up doing the drive through the whole Park, which was beautiful. I went in on the Estes Park side and exited the Grand Lakes side.

With that said, I don't want to overstate my bravery level driving on those windy mountain roads. Three times I decided that it was too scary and that I was going to turn around and go back. But I made it to the Alpine rest area, got a snack and consulted my map. At that point I realized I was much more than halfway done so I powered through.

I did pull over a couple of times to let people pass me. And hugged the yellow line. I saw two moose on the way out but didn't get a picture.

Whether it was the terror or the altitude, I slept for almost 12 hours on Friday night. I came back to Chicago Saturday afternoon. DD is still out here, yesterday, the four of us went to a Top Golf type of place.

QOTD: Maybe a garbage disposal.

Breakfast: egg sandwich

Lunch: Roast beef

Dinner: TBD, maybe going out with DD as it's her last day

Have a great day, all!

Trail ridge is a glorious drive but you would not have been the first to bail out on it! Good job going over the top! How much snow was there?

Generally just patches in various areas. I did see all of the sticks, which I guessed were to keep the plows on the road?

Yep, they are so the plow drivers know where the sides of the road are. This is what the snow can look like early in the summer, you can see the snow poles in both sides.

Beautiful pictures!

I would love to be visiting that exact location this very minute, such a beautiful area! I want to live in Estes Park.
