Good morning! My week is off with a bang. HIIT class is done. It was not easy, and I had to take a few extra breaks, but I'm happy to have completed it and then came home and cleaned and washed out the porch. Looks nice out there.

We had a good mix of busy/slow this weekend. Two dates with neighbors, saw SIX, the musical, got a great grocery shopping done so I'm flush with good options and gave the house a good deep clean. And now Rog is golfing so I have 6 glorious hours more of being by myself. Ahhhhhhh, the good life. Oh, except for the dogs getting skunked on Saturday evening. That part sucked.

QoTD: I do love them, I know I shouldn't. But I do. We'll be watching them from afar at a girlfriend's house. All of us posed at the stop of the stairs in front of her bedroom window twisting in every direction to fit us all in and see them over the ocean.

Menu today.

B: the last of my chicken stir fry with cottage cheese

L: the last of my curry chicken and green beans

D: Porcini risotto with chicken and tomato salad

Lots of chicken today!

Peace Everybody.

We were at a friend's house, on their elevated deck, watching it happen in real time. In broad daylight around 5 in the afternoon. What was the skunk doing out at that time??? And Monte is the great hunter. We couldn't get him away, he attacked it and played shake a kitty with it and even tossed him so high in the air he nearly flew over the fence. By the grace of whatever being watches over dumb dogs, our friend had ordered a bottle of Skunk Off just to have it on hand. This was not our first rodeo with skunking. Let me tell you, Skunk off is a miracle worker and worth every penny it costs. We reordered more to refill their stock and got us some for here. Monte went from drenched in skunk to just ever so slightly eau de Pepe Le Pew.

Due to the fact that most of my customers are closed today I was able to dig out the photos of the cookies frm Mom's 80th. I thought they were appropriate.

Here was me 3 years ago at my first 5k 30lbs lighter I finished in 27 minutes. Tomorrow I just want to finish.

Wow those cookies were great. My husband was born in 1937. His generation did run on booze and nicotine. He said he quit smoking and maybe he really did but always smelled so strongly of cigarettes when he came home from the bars.

He hung out at an ITAM where they all contributed to a fund to pay the fines whenever they got in trouble for allowing smoking after it was banned inside in Ohio.

QOTD- The last fireworks show I saw was 10 years ago, and for personal reasons it was an absolute disaster. I hate home set off fireworks, this will be the kittens first 4th so I'm not sure how they will do. I know they didn't like thunder but I'll try to keep them calm. Plus my PTSD so not a fun time.

I'm having issues with my roommate, but hopefully he will get over it. He's threatening to move out again, at this point I would be good with that. The sad thing is that I probably would not have bought this place if he weren't in the picture. It had separate spaces that worked for us. I will eventually sell this place and move into my Mom's house, but believe me I'm not wishing for her to die but would like to have a much lower mortgage and a shop.

I got a new Kallax shelf unit, a couple of baskets and desk from Ikea yesterday, I had it all delivered and that was great. Well worth the $39 for delivery. I also put my old desk out on the street with a Free sign and someone took it, so I didn't have to take it to Goodwill. I got them all assembled and now I have much more storage space and I'm hoping to get this office better organized.

I need to get back to work.

Have a great day everyone!

Living with another person is hard and I hope to avoid that as long as possible. My sister and her husband lived with her daughter for about ten years and pretty much raised her grandson. They just moved to a home of their own and I think they will like that much more. Getting things organized will help a lot. Enjoy the shelf and baskets.
