What's on your Thursday Menu?
Good morning Queen JB and Menuers,
Good luck with those 500 calories. I know it would take me being very sick to get down that far. I love to eat way too much. But I applaud you for doing it.
I grilled a ham steak last night after all the chatter on here about it and it was wonderful. I paired it with green beans and baked sweet potato and I was in heaven. Glad to say I got leftovers for lunch. The air here is terrible we got the Canadians smoking bacon up there and we have terrible air here. I couldn't care two bits, but the dog is not happy.

G'morning all!
QJB - 500 cals? How do you survive on 500 cals? I don't think I have ever gone below 800, and that was the first year. Just make sure you don't swing so hard one way that comes back hitting you hard. It's always hard losing weight for an event, and I bet you half of those people won't even notice your weight. They will notice your youth, your smile and your enthusiasm. So go easy on yourself.
We are gearing up for our trip to CO tomorrow, so lots of to do things today to wrap up work. Tomorrow I'll drop Luna at the dog sitter on my way to the airport. Luna loves the neighbors as her sitters but they'll be out of town too, so she goes to her regular that doesn't spoil her the way the neighbor does. Other than that I gotta get a haircut today and I might get a pixie cut, I haven't decided yet, I've been thinking about it but not 100% sure.

When you say rolled oats, is that raw, cooked or overnight?

Keep in mind I had never had any kind of oats. So this is the only way I know how because this program I'm on, on higher carb days recommended it.
half a cup gf rolled oats
half a cup almond macadamia milk
a scoop of protein powder
a tsp of chia seeds
You leave it over night in the fridge.
You could add berries to it. Or like me drizzle almond butter in the morning when I take it out of the fridge.
Without the additions it's 314 cals, 27g protein, and 38.5 carbs (which scared the heck out of me to begin with, but I'm going with the program and see how it works out at the end of 6 weeks).

I like the sound of your recipe. I once made overnight oats with greek yogurt, wasn't a fan. I do love oatmeal and they are also my favorite cookie!

Me too. So many raisin haters out there! There is a raisin theme going on here today.

The only time I don't like raisins is when I think they are chocolate chips...they are disappointing when that happens. My college cafe made an oatmeal raisin choc chip cookie. It prevented that confusion.

I was a popular mom because I always baked my oatmeal cookies with choc chips. They looked like raisins, so at potlucks ppl thought they were raisins, but through the kids grapevine they had found out I make them with chocolate chips. My cookies were always the first to disappear.
I do not like raisins, in case that wasn't clear.
