What's on your Thursday Menu?
Good morning everyone. Things are finally heating up here, and the AC is on a lot more. I don't care for heat -- cold is better.
QOTD: There are lots of early colonial things out here. Salem witch trials, Pilgrims, the Mayflower. Paul Revere, Lexington and Concord, and Johnny Appleseed. Then you've got the Red So and Cape Cod. I have no idea what the state birds and whatnot are. But they constantly make official declarations for all that stuff. Marshmallow Fluff was invented here, so they named it the official state sandwich spread, or some such nonsense. About 5 minutes from here was the restaurant where Tollhouse Cookies were invented, but it burned down in the 80s. There's a Wendy's there now, but there's a plaque on the corner.
You all want cookies and fluff now, don't you.

I never cared for a fluffernutter. I use Fluff in a fudge recipe, a whole 7 oz jar. I used to use gallons of it making Christmas fudge for everyone at my kid's school. I should probably have my 20,000 pounds of fudge badge.

I had that same recipe, I think! Then I found one for homemade Irish cream and I haven't made fudge gifts since, lol

Irish cream recipe? Do tell.
I'm pretty sure my fudge recipe was supposed to be the one used by Mamie Eisenhower.

In a blender, to your taste, combine heavy whipping cream, sweetened condensed milk, instant coffee, chocolate syrup, vanilla and whisky. Eagle used to make a chocolate sweetened condensed milk but I haven't been able to find it for years. Put in a fancy bottle and you are done!

Raisins? I never knew raisin is a CA thing. Is it because of the vines and the wine industry? That's what they do with the left over grapes?
