DH called from the ER. Evidently she fell and broke her hip - however, they think they can do a partial hip replacement, and if so, that would be good. Recovery on the partial ones is much quicker. Right now they are waiting on clearances from cardiology and pulmonology before they roll her into surgery. She has congestive heart failure, an inoperable aortic aneurym, and emphysema, so she's a surgical risk - but hopefully they can do this. If not, she'll likely be in a wheelchair the rest of her life, but the orthopedic surgeon is confident she'll get clearance. Fingers crossed.

at least she's at one of the university hospitals. Last time she insisted on being taken to one of the small community hospitals, which I think was a big mistake. Yes it's smaller and friendlier - and it's a great place for more routine types of things - but for complicated cases like hers, she really needs to be a big research hospital. I'm glad she's seen the light as she told the EMTs to take her there.

I agree 100% with research hospital. The surgeons there like to nail everything they do to show off to their students.

G'morning all!

QJB - Yay for being home and with your fur babies. They must have missed you a ton. When we come back from vacation Luna usually gives us the cold shoulder for half a day, as in how dare you left me behind.

That meme about running, yeah I never felt great running. I hate running but it's the best bang for my bucks on cardio days. I never feel the glow or after glow or whatever it is supposed to be. I do it and then say DONE, don't wanna think about it until the day after tomorrow. I know I could find another cardio that I enjoy more but none of them gives me the elevated heart rate and calorie burn wogging gives me. And speaking of exercise, has anybody done progressive HIIT? It was part of my yesterday's workout. I just about died.

QOTD: I try not to think of stuff that make me anxious, if it has to happen it will and I'll deal with it when it happens.

My meals yesterday:

  • Coffee
  • Egg bites, tomatoes, pecorino
  • Costco chicken skewers, tomatoes
  • Protein pudding, homemade froyo
  • Hb eggs & avocado
  • E: 5.75 miles wog, 1/2 hr HIIT

Off to see DCgirl later today!
