Good Morning, friends! Happy Juneteenth!

I had a very nice weekend! I finished up school work on Thursday and took the weekend completely off. We had a nice dinner out with Grim's bro and SIL on Friday and for the rest of the weekend, I decorated cookies, cleaned, organized, read a good book and watched a lot of true crime tv :) FYI, if you have not seen the Curious Case of Natalia Grace, I strongly suggest you call in sick today and binge-watch for 6 hours. That was NUTS.

Today I need to write a ton of papers so that I can turn everything in tomorrow since I won't have Wed or Thurs for school work. Wish me luck!

BTW, somehow we had an ice cream truck stop right in front of our house last night. Kids from the neighborhood that I have never seen came out. But Grim refused to go buy me anything. Thankfully I can make my own sno-cones ;)

QOTD: How often do you get groceries? When I lived in my condo I used to go and grab 1 - 2 things every other day on my way home from work, and rarely did a "big" run unless it was to a specialty store. Now, a combination of post-Covid habits plus being annoyed with crowds, I do a big order every 3 weeks-ish through Instacart. If it was closer, I would go to Trader Joe's all the time, I think, but it's about 40 minutes away so I find myself only going every few months.

I am just eating down the freezer before we go, so options are very limited.

B: Protein coffee & eggwich

Good morning and happy monday! I am ready for the new week -- and we are half way through June and halfway through 2023, isn't that wild?

Quick post for me because I have to get in my rowing before I head to the office this morning, I have a dentist appt this afternoon so it will be a shorter day there and I'm meeting a friend from high school for dinner so that will be fun.

Book recommendation - Black Cake by Charmaine Wilkerson -- not one I would have picked up but it was the book my bookclub picked for June and I loved it. Next up at bookclub is my pick Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow which Sheila recommended to me. We have read another book by the T&T&T author that was really good some I'm excited for July bookclub.

QOTD - about once a week, I'll pop in if I need to grab something specific but it's usually my early Saturday activity. Grocery stores open earlier than most other places!

menu today

coffee plus half and half x 3

cottage cheese with PB

barbell bar or chomps

I have checked out the menu and I think I will have the tri-tip for dinner.

Have a magnificent Monday all!

I have a Walmart membership. For $99 a year, I get free delivery from the store and free shipping. i usually order on Saturday morning and get everything for the week then. I started that during the pandemic and now it seems like too much time and effort to go grocery shopping.

Good morning QJB and menuers,

Sounds like a good weekend! I love all those borrowed characters on the ice cream truck. Have never purchased anything from one. Have fun today on papers!

QOTD- I go pretty much every week. Used to do pickup but switched back to store shopping for several reasons, including the chance to hobble around the store. I like to show up when they open to avoid crowds. At 6am it's mostly employees shopping for orders, overnight workers getting off and skilled trades folks. Works for me. I need to eat down my fridge and freezer and stop buying food, though.

Barely did any cooking this weekend for prep. Shame on me. I'll toss in the chicken enchilada casserole this morning since I had to make the chicken first.

Work from home today and tomorrow. I'll be calling the HVAC folks today to see when he can make it out.

Accountability- Watermelon. Mmm, refreshing.

Exercise- More treadmill or elliptical. I'm still sore. Yay!

Menu - English muffin with turkey and cheddar cheese, uncured beef hot dog, asparagus, blueberries, maybe pizza chaffles for dinner

Happy Monday!

I refused????!!!! I was begging you to run out to the ice cream truck, but you flat-out wouldn't go. I almost pinned a note to a cat and sent him out, but it was too late. This is all your fault.

I would have been swallowed up by that crowd. We needed a big guy with elbows to make it past those little ice-cream monsters.
