This is the only site I use for support. Early on I added some Facebook sites but quickly tired of the same Newby questions and fake unrealistic weight loss posts.

oh yea - then there's that. That doesn't come up often on my clinic's page because I think they pound it into their heads that they're just not going to lose 50 lbs the first month, but I see that all the time on other sites. "I had surgery a month ago and I've only lost 20 lbs - I feel like I'm just going to fail with this, too!". Good Lord people - unless you're the size of someone on "My 600 lb Life", you are NOT going to lose 40+ pounds the first month!!!

G'morning all!

It's Fri-yay!! Happy Father's Day to the dads on this thread.

QJB - it has gone fast, but you have worked extra hard. It was a brave decision to leave your job and pursue your masters while having a side cookie business. But the less traveled path is always the most rewarding.

DH is in a little bit of a funk mood because he has been hinting to DS that he wants to go down to San Diego for Father's Day to spend the day together. But DS said "no thank you, I'll see you anyway in 2 weeks!" So, it falls to me to cheer him up. I have scheduled a face time call with the kids on Sun, but he refuses to go to a beach party friends of ours are throwing because we are all empty nesters. He says it's like going to a divorcee party with all singles. OK, somebody doesn't want to get cheered up so we just have to sulk. Men, little babies.

I, on the other hand, am in a very good mood. Because look what arrived yesterday.

I think I shared with you guys last time I came back from Italy, that my brother has bought an olive farm; it has other stuff too but it has tons of olive trees. That big bottle with yellow liquid is pure virgin, fresh from the farm, olive oil. While he was at it he sent me also some cheese and salami. Who can ask for anything more? He said he has taken over the distribution of olive oil to all of our local friends and family. It's a tradition, infact I don't ever recall buying oil at the store before I came here. You always know somebody, somewhere that provides you with good oil. Too bad he can't send it to me more often.

QOTD: when kids were home it was a beach day, or hiking day. With my dad it was more of a going out to eat day.

My meals yesterday:

  • Coffee
  • Rolled oats w/protein powder & sf choc chips
  • Protein pudding, Fage yogurt & cucumbers, epic chicken
  • Hb egg & tuna with bell peppers and grape tomatoes
  • E: cardio & weight, + 1/2 hr new program's weight

Happy Fri-yay!

Can I be your brother's surprise sister? I'd fake a DNA match for that olive oil, lol

We need to befriend his office manager. If it was up to my brother I would still be waiting. I texted her that he keeps promising but doesn't deliver. A week later the pack arrived.
And, LOL at surprise sister. I can't even imagine how he would react to a new family member.

That looks like a package my brother would send me. Minus the Olive oil we do not have a guy for that here in Pittsburgh.
