You are too kind. I hear you've been under the weather, hope you feel better soon. And hopefully you are not like my husband who thinks he can get over a cold with no medication because "his body will fight it naturally!"

Guys--please pipe in and share why you think medicine does not apply to you. I must understand.

I've just never found cold medicines to have any effect. They aren't magic. I used to try various things, but never felt better. Why take them?

Antibiotics and other things are a different story. I'll take any vaccine you've got. Those types of things are in a different category than cold medicine.

I do drink a lot. That's great for breaking up phlegm and such. Why won't JB drink plenty of fluids? Hmm?

On a separate note, germs find my body an inhospitable environment.

I agree with antibiotics and vaccine being in a different category, and I wouldn't have stayed married to DH if he was an anti-vaxx. But I think he relishes in staying sick (usually a cold) and whining. And always the same sayings:

-have you ever seen me having this bad of a cold?

-I never get sick but this time...

-O****agic.

When he is sick kids text me repeating what he says without being there. We all know his repertoire.

LOL. I just text the kids "dad is sick" with a rolling eye emoji and their texts start pouring in. They compete to see who can nail what he is saying.

But I like this code. I might use it next time I need to warn the kids.

The only thing about Lisa and Rog's stay was it was too short. I thought of a million other things we did not get to do. I am sure the beach extravaganza was wonderful. I would have rolled in the sand on every beach.

Good Monday morning, peeps!

Awww QJB, I am so sorry that Grim caught the yuck. Man colds are worse than regular colds LOL. I hope he's on the mend ASAP because it sucks to feel bad. I will be crossing my fingers and also pressing my thumbs (the German version of crossing fingers, and I think it's adorable).

I had a mostly fab weekend. I was visiting my parents, living that retiree life. Lots of murder shows, dog park visits, meals, and laughter. We even went to a neighbor's who is crafty and made bracelets. It was unexpectedly fun. We fly home tonight and naturally they are calling for thunderstorms, gusty winds, and a tiny possibility of hail. Pray for me. I will be popping a Xanax for sure since I am a **** flyer on the best of days. While my mind KNOWS that planes don't fall out of the sky, my mind also knows that THIS IS THE FLIGHT THAT WILL BE DIFFERENT lololol. I'm crazy, I am well-aware.

QOTD: I have a spontaneous spirit and I am always up for whatever, but I am a planner by nature. I am always the trip planner (well, except when traveling with PartlyPollyana who just simply rocks at it so I went along with the flow!) but I am the type to do allllll the research, create a spreadsheet of things we COULD do, or things we COULD see, or restaurants that seem amazing, and then let the days play out as they play out. I just don't like to go to a new city or country with no clue of what to do and see :) I would say 99% of my friends and family appreciate my approach. But maybe they ***** about me behind my back ha ha.

B: Pine nut hummus with wheat thins. We bought this and my parents don't eat it so I felt the responsibility.

L: Hmmm either a turkey sandwich here (if the boars head is still good) or maybe potbelly at the airport if not

D: I may pick up some BBQ at a place on the way home - grab some smoked chicken and ribs and then that can be dinner for the whole fam.

I miss my DH and DS (I have one DD with me) but I really, really, really miss my CAT!

Have a wonderful start to the week!
