What's on your Monday Menu?
on 6/12/23 2:54 am
Yep this is going to be one of those Mondays. I was laying in bed doing a crossword puzzle this morning when I heard Grim scream "son of a *****" after my cat knocked over the lovely vase of peonies I got at last week's class. Water everywhere. Grim also caught my horrible-no-good-very-bad cold, just as I am recovering, and now it's kicking his ass. We were supposed to go to a Red Sox game for his birthday tonight, but I am calling it and I decided we need to stay home until he gets better. We'll go another time... when he reads this there should be more growling.
In more positive news, my cookie class was great yesterday. I got a good laugh though--I was told the space I usually use is no longer available (ever) so they put me downstairs. When I got there I found out why:
If I time my cookie classes right, I can make a killing, can't I? LOL.
QOTD: Are you spontaneous? I'm not. I don't mind having a general outline and then choosing something fun within parameters, but I rarely just blindly choose to do something new.
Well one thing I have been too spontaneous about is food. Since I was sick I didn't do much planning. And now we don't have much in the house that isn't leftovers from eating out this weekend, so I will probably just do that, and then get an Instacart order with real food later.
B: Protein coffee & breakfast quesadilla
L: more breakfast quesadilla
D: cauliflower crust pizza

Good morning and happy monday! We are speeding our way through June, aren't we?
I think you can make a fortune in your new location, timing will be everything...and a great place to leave a few flyers for your next class. Will it be easier to set up in the room or did it just change from one flight up to one flight down? Hope you continue to get over the cold and grim does too!
First of three in office days this week so this will be quick.
My weekend was wonderful and I'm ready for the week ahead!
QOTD - no, I can be flexible but I like a good plan and then fiexing within in it. I am a spontaneous gift giver though, does that count?
menu
coffee plus half and half X 3
cottage cheese mixed with pb
naanwich with salami
I think I need to stop at the store on the way home, I didn't go yesterday like I planned and get dinner for tonight and meals for the rest of the week. I am down to just one yogurt.

Have a wonderful day!!

I used to have that a lot when I was a new post-op. Sometimes I'd add some protein powder to it, too. It would probably be a great option for you to get in a lot of protein while having easy to digest food that is mild on your stomach.

I love cottage cheese with protein powder (different flavors). As you said packed with protein and so satisfying. I'm not a PB person but if I were that would have been a great combo.

It's one of those things that I think just slipped off my menu and now I'm like "I need this more"

I like to mash hard boiled eggs into my cottage cheese and add a liberal amount of everything but the bagel spice. I may have to bring that back into the rotation. Also known as, "Emiepie Egg Salad!"
A friend recently texted that she?s putting cottage cheese into the food processor with a packet of ranch seasoning and it?s delish!
You like that? On purpose? I think of it as something over which prisoners would start a riot.
