Speaking of Acronyms, my mom texted me SOS. I immediately dropped what I was doing and called her cause I thought it was an emergency. She was just saying, 'same old ****' smdh.

I automatically think '**** on a shingle' lol. But from Mom? I'd probably go there too.

Mornin' All!
another beautiful day before the rain comes (weekend plus a day or two next week). I really should get out and bike again today, although I'm feeling like going to Aqua Zumba instead - but there's no reason I can't do both! One of my film groups meets over lunch (film for the month is "Cousins" - the 2021, New Zealand one (I think there's more than one film with that name)), then my mother, DH, and I are meeting up with our hair person at 2:30 (Mom and hair person really want to see each other - Mom can no longer tackle the stairs that go up to the hair studio, so she hasn't seen said hair person in probably a year). Other than that, I need to look at all this driveway-related stuff that DH has sent me this past week. We had two estimates and we're trying to decide between the two - and of course we liked both companies. It sounds like DH may have made up his mind, but he wanted me to look at all the info, too.
QOTD: I think I joined about a year before my surgery because I wanted to do as much research as humanly possible. I lurked for quite awhile before posting because I was afraid of looking like an idiot or getting blasted (there were often conflicts and a handful of pretty confrontational people on here back then - it's a much calmer place nowadays). So that would have been 2014 (when I joined) and probably a few months after my June 2015 surgery when I actually started posting (totally forgot I had my eight-year surgiversary last week - although I guess that's not unusual the further out you get).
B: either skyr with fruit or a protein muffin before heading to the pool. Coffee with half & half (already had)
AS: protein shake
L: at the discussion group meeting. I'll probably opt for the half sandwich/half soup or salad option (last time at this place my half sandwich was turkey with tomato and pesto - will probably get that again).
MS: will be at the family/hairdresser meet up at that time - it's at a French cafe/bakery. Hopefully I'll be too full from lunch to even think about one of the pastries. I'm going to plan on coffee or some coffee concoction (if sweetened, then fake sugar, of course...)
D: something light for sure - maybe Loma Linda taco filling with tomatoes and a dollop of plain Greek yogurt
have a great day, everyone!
I have a few questions.
First, I notice that you offer
soup and a half sandwich.
- Yes.
Where exactly does the half-sandwich come from? Are you giving me half of someone else's sandwich? Or do I have to wait for someone else to order the other half?
No. They just make a half sandwich.
You can't make a half sandwich.
If it's not half of a whole sandwich, it's just a small sandwich.

I take a slice of bread and cut it in half it's both the top and bottom of the sandwich, then it's a half...or is it Shrodinger's sandwich?

But, the slice of bread was cut in half BEFORE it was turned into the sandwich. Therefore, at the time of sandwich construction it was two pieces, not halves.
If you cut a slice of bread in half along its thin axis, it would have the same surface area, with half the volume. Would it still make half a sandwich? Hmm?
