Good Morning and Happy Taco Tuesday to those who celebrate :)

Unfortunately I am getting further and further under the weather. I'm worried because I have so much to do and I couldn't make it through the day without a long nap yesterday. This semester has literally twice the amount of work than any other semester has had so far, and I am very concerned about getting it all done. Ugh ugh ugh.

QOTD: What is your go-to for comfort when you feel yucky? I love a warm cup of coffee, my favorite throw blanket, and a kitty on my lap.

I can't even think about food right now. I ate on plan yesterday and if I am up for it, I'll have the same today.

Good morning QJB and menuers,

Sorry to hear that, JB. I wish there was a trick for getting better. There's never a good time. Maybe there is some grace if you contact your professor now and let them know?

QOTD- Big mug of tea, curled up in the recliner. Becoming more of a fan of chicken soup.

The yard service came out yesterday and priced the removal of one of my dead trees. I lost 4 this year and 3 are big old oaks. One is immediately behind the house and that makes it a problem. It will be $1,000 for them to cut it down, take it to the pasture and light the biggest bonfire on the planet. It's a bargain given the size of the tree. I'm sad since it's the tree that shaded both bedrooms on the back of the house. Anyway, that will happen in the next few weeks.

Today I have a lot of meetings. Still playing catch up.

Accountability- Dense protein is hard. Did better on liquids since I'm counting everything I consume in recipes, too.

Exercise is hauling more branches from the storms.

Menu - Protein pudding, hot dog with M&M sauce. Probably chicken soup. English muffin with turkey and cheese. Tea, no crumpets. Protein chips.

Have a great day, everyone!

I totally forgot how costly tree removal is. After getting quotes, a 20ft tree removal was $975 ten years ago. I'm happy to hear you're addressing it now before it becomes a problem. Are you going to plant a new tree in it's place?

Yeah it isn't cheap. This is the third since I moved in and there's an epidemic in the old oaks all around these parts. I'm prioritizing stuff near the house. The other snags will have to stay put for a while, unfortunately. Given how close that tree is to the edge of my property, might not plant new. I'm going to ask that they leave the stump if it's in good shape and I'll turn it into a birdbath. There's another...something a few feet away that's been growing for two years. I'll take a look at what it is and see if I can leave it!

Tree with 200+ gallon propane tank for scale. Bushy/tree growing in behind it. Brushline is my neighbor's land. My septic may be on their property. I really should get it assessed.

That tree is hugungous. The tree removal service has a big job ahead of them.

Yep! Very reasonable price for one that size. Now imagine that whole tree and half its friend...in a bonfire pile!

Me, too! The old trees are part of what drew me to this place. I had an arborist look at pictures and he said I can't stop this. Some are from the heat last summer and some are from fungus/beetles.

I would totally invite you! Given the size of the wood in the pile out there I'd have said it would never burn but these guys seem to be convinced. I had to insist it happens on a day I'm home because burn permits are required. Not sure on the size of the burn pile but this would be the biggest I've ever seen.
