What's on your Sunday menu?

Good mornin everyone! Hope you're all doing ok.

Not a lot planned for the day. I wish we could just stay home but our neighbors will probably make drugs and we just can't stay home if they do that. Our police told us if we called they wouldn't come out since they have to have probable cause or something to go on. I've not been handling it ell this week either. Our police department has proven that they don't really care about out area of town. When my mom called about the neighbor was threatening my mom the dispatcher was testy and asked my mom "so do you want us to send an officer out?" Meanwhile the turds now ex was screaming I'm going to kick your white a$$ you white witch(with a b). I have no doubt they are investigating home like they say but we are left to languish while they slowly "work" on it. I'm not knocking all police just my cities police.

I started Ozempic again Friday. My BS's are better already and my stomach wants to avoid a lot of things. Over all I wouldn't say I feel great but I am relatively ok. I'm trying really hard to be calm about things. It's hard when my mom is mouthing off to the bad neighbor as I don't like yelling and what my mom says...she gets really irritable when this affects us. If I try to get her to stop with certain things she just gets a little nasty with me or starts yelling more. I've started to try and leave the room. I get her frustration but I hate yelling,

QOTD: I can't think of much right now. Brain fart kind of situation. Soooo....what's your plans for the week ahead?

I have at least 3 appointments this week. Womens doctor tomorrow is the biggest and most annoying haha. At least it's just a wellness visit. We'll have the kids 2-3 days.

Breakfast: chicken sausage and a protein pancake. Coffee of course

Lunch: maybe a gluten free chicken Alfredo meal I have in the freezer.

Good morning Mel and the crew

I'm still in Asheville NC. Staying in a dorm room is ..interesting. the conference is great, accommodations- ugh. I'm glad I brought a pillow with me. The mattress and the pillow are encased in some type of rubberized plastic material. I have acroom just for myself but it has a 2 rooms shared bathroom. Not too bad.

Qotd: travel by a private jet, stayed in good hotels, have a personal driver, shoppers, massage therapist...... life of luxury..

Today menu:

Liquids...

L: food is provided so I'll pick something.. or have dry sausage sticks and cheese..(got that from home).

S: cheese, dried sausage sticks...(they are room temperature stable).

D: I got home late so I hope I'll have salad with proteins.

It's probably been 40 years since I've been to Asheville (I once lived about an hour away from there) - it's since become a real arts- and retirement mecca. Beautiful place! But sorry they put you up in dormland!!

Mornin' Weekenders!

I had such a fantastic time with my friends from NC yesterday (the ones I haven't seen in almost 40 years) - wow - fabulous day all around. In addition to doing all the traditional Madison things, we went out to a winery and did at tasting. I bought a loaf of spicy cheese bread at the farmers' market here in town for the three of us to share because that's another "Madison thing" (I noticed last night that a gazillion Web sites talk about and/or have a recipe for the Madison cheese bread - even America's Test Kitchen - so it's known beyond our borders, too!). I haven't had any in probably 10 years as it's not exactly bariatric-friendly. I was pretty worried about the calories, but I walked almost 20K steps, so according to MyFitnessPal (which I have linked to my FitBit), I still came in slight under my calorie limit. Whew! (not sure how trustworthy either of those things are, but we did walk A LOT). The only other things I had yesterday besides wine and cheese bread were a protein shake (breakfast) and a poke bowl (dinner). Anyway, it didn't turn out to be the calorie-fest yesterday that I was anticipating.

I was originally thinking we'd be getting together this morning, too, but they wanted to get an early start. They'll be in Iowa for a couple of days (Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa are the last three states they had to check off before they've been to all 50 - thus, this trip) - then they'll drive north again to Minnesota, spending a couple of days in Rochester, and then heading back to the airport in the Twin Cities to fly back home. They are thinking about relocating to a university town because they feel like those are a better "fit" for them (he's a retired professor, she a retired administrator), and they LOVED Madison, but Rick is a little leery about the winters here. But he was saying they could get around that by being "snowbirds". I hope they do. I would LOVE having them here!

anyway, nothing on the agenda today other than hopefully finishing the book I've been reading. Busy week ahead, which leads me to...

QOTD: book discussion group, film discussion group, massage, meetup with my new friend to return his book, coffee meetup with my mother & our hairdresser, board meeting for one of my organizations, labs for my annual appt with the bariatric clinic, lunch with a friend, online meeting between the people who went on the India trip three years ago (which would include me) and the people who will be going on the trip this coming fall, taking my mother to a couple of appts, and spending the whole day Thurs updating our stuff for our every-other-year meeting with our estate attorney regarding our trust. I don't know when I'm going to fit in doing research for my upcoming trip to Scandinavia. I thought I'd have tons of time between now and then since classes are over and my organization work has wound down, but nope- I've got lots of things on my calendar

B: skyr, diced mango, coffee with half & half

MS: protein shake

L: leftover chicken/spinach/butternut squash tangine

AS: protein muffin

D: leftover paneer mukhani

ex: something. Temps only get to the mid-80s today, and it's only in the 70s now, so i may get out and walk or ride my bike

have a great day, everyone!

Good morning Mel and weekend menuers,

Happy Sunday to you all. Hope it's a good one. And Mel, glad the meds seem to be helping your blood sugar a bit. It's a start. Sorry about the neighbors. Do not regret the decision to move out to nowhere. Phew.

QOTD- Still catching up on work. It's going to be a process. I'm going to try and stay home though since there are still frequent enough symptoms to be disruptive to myself and others. I'll have to check my work calendar for reminders of other things.

I got four bushes planted yesterday before my energy and strength went. Took a bit of extra time to pull up two dead bushes and do some much-needed weeding. Was very happy with what got done since there was also a good bit of indoor housework, too.

Today I drove to town to pick up some ingredients and such from the store. I now own a stock pot! It's a good size for one person who likes to cook. Will be breaking that out soon! I've got a bit more cooking to do today and more housework. Standard things, and I'm happy for the quiet day. It's not even 9 yet!

Accountability- Need more liquids. I seem to have to trade off food or liquids since I always feel full.

Exercise - Housework and baby weights. Still don't want to burn too many calories until I'm happy with where I am weight-wise.

Menu - sourdough English muffin with butter, 3 ounces of turkey and Cabot cheese. An adapted croque madame, hot dog with M&M sauce (if there's a next time, will use leaner meat), maybe a ham and egg scramble cause there's ham to be used. Protein pudding if needed.

Cheers, everyone!

I bought a stock pot once at a garage sale that reminds me of the one "Granny Clampett" used. The previous owner must have worked in a restaurant or something - it is HUGE! But so great for things like making turkey stock - not nearly as much breaking of the bones required (although I do enough that I'll some marrow in my stock). It was great for prepping for big dinner parties, too.
