I probably went to that as well. I know I've seen them at least four times, maybe (??)

He will play in some format until he dies, but this is the last tour for Dead & Company. I have tickets for Friday at Wrigley but not Saturday. I would love to go see them at Saratoga Performing Arts Center, but I will be away those days.

wait - didn't they do a tour i***** I swear I saw them then. I'm only remembering that year because it was soon after I met DH - although I didn't go with him - I went with my friend Bob. Unless I'm thinking of some other band - but I thought it was them. I'll have to check because this will drive me nuts!!

UPDATE: according to Wikipedia, their last North American tour was in 2015. Although they could have announced a farewell tour several times - tends to bring in crowds.

1994 would have been the original. Jerry Garcia died in 1995. John Mayer was only 17 i*****

I was actually responding the Grim's post about seeing the Rolling Stones Farewell tour in 1989. It's just that we must have been posting at the same time, and yours "won"! (so it looks like I was responding to you instead of Grim!)

They have had countless farewell tours. The one I went to was their first.

The Stones were pretty much the first to make "farewell tour" a joke. There have probably been at least two more concert going generations that have seen them tour since that farewell tour.

They were in the US leg of their tour in 2020 (they played Denver the fall/winter 2019) and then finished the US leg in 2021. I think they have a US leg this year too but it might be 2024.

ah - so that Wikipedia article was out-of-date - whoever wrote it probably thought 2015 was going to finally be the real farewell tour - but nope!

I think the Stones will be the last group touring. I mean Keith Richards will survive the apocalypse. It will be zombies, ****roaches and Keith!
