Happy June 1st. It feels like we are officially into the summer. Although most people correlate Memorial Day to the beginning of summer. We have had some nice weather also, more low-80s. We are gearing up for DS's HS graduation on June 10th. We actually have family coming over to celebrate with us. Amazing since they are not very good about visiting us in our town. "Rather we see them when we travel to our hometown. We thought that we would have more family visitors when we moved closer to them. I will say my parents-in-law did visit about 2 times annually until COVID. Now my FIL has passed, and my MIL can't travel independently due to health and mobility issues. We are excited to have family come over. Lots of house deep cleaning this weekend in store.

QOTD: My first thought is my dogs ashes to keep me company. I don't know if I am attached to any one material item that I would need to take with me.

Accountability: Great

Same meals.

E: weights (leg day), 60 min yoga

Good morning. Montana really is just beautiful. On Tuesday we hosted friends for the night and had a great bbq on the back porch. Then we followed them back to their new homestead. 40 acres of forest that the are clearing part of and building a home. By themselves. The amount of work/labor is overwhelming and Roger and I agree we could not do it. Also, we could not tote in water every few days, deal with bears, live off a generator/battery situation, live in a 24' trailer for 6 months of the year (leaving only when the snow starts to fly) and most importantly for me, live that remotely. No thank you , that is not the life for me but is sure is a gorgeous piece of land. We were able to get the dogs groomed yesterday and then had roasted chicken by the roaring fireplace last night.

Today I have to figure out my damn bank. At least my house sitter was able to find the letter with my new account number. Fingers crossed as I owe a couple of people Venmo money and this is stopping me from paying and making me look bad!

QoTD: I don't have an original answer here. I'm not much attached to stuff. So if I can't bring my kids and grands (and I surely don't want to drag them along with me! Poor them.), I guess I'll take my IPad so I can read and do wordle and spelling bee.

L. Leftover Shepard pie, easy on the potatoes

do Wordle - ha ha ha! Me too! The morning is not complete without my various puzzles...

also, building a house by themselves? Yikes. I couldn't even have one built by a contractor. I got stressed out even having a bathroom remodeled, even though we hired an interior designer. I could barely pick out one thing out of the three or four options she gave me for every inch of the thing ("here - all three of these faucets would look great - which one do you like best?" "here - these three colors of Corian will all look great in here - pick one!". And paint colors - ugh - I about had PTSD picking them out. No way in hell could I build a house, even if we had someone else build it for us!

and yea - living anywhere that remote - nope. I couldn't do that either. I need to be in or very near civilization.

Up and down the coast there are beautiful homes in remote areas and I always think "how far to civilization if I forget an item on my shopping list?" The houses are gorgeous but the idea of being so remote does not appeal to me.

I don't know in MT how far you are from Kalispell. There is a place called Avalanche Ranch, talk about being remote but beautiful. I remember everytime we did an event there we had to get everybody's preference (down to their water brand) before hand in order to stock all the individual cabins. Because once you got on the ranch there was no way to buy anything that wasn't on your request list. During winter it actually looked like Santa's village with sleigh and everything. I loved that place.

Kalispell IS gorgeous. And yeah, that kind of remote. They did just get a cute little local store that's trying real hard, but for real groceries or any sundries or supplies, it's an hour haul. no thank you.

Montana is beautiful! It's impossible to overstate.

Have you tried Worldle and Globle? I mentioned them to my team when I was in Georgia last week and they have all gotten hooked. I get morning texts of their stats, it's hilarious.

Good morning, everybody.

we snuck out to Home Depot yesterday and did some flower shopping. We got a hanging petunia (white, purple and white/purple stripes) for our back porch. A hanging geranium for our front (really deep red like a rose). Some daisies and sunflowers for the back yard and impatiens and marigolds for the front yard.

C.H., I'm not sure if it's quite as colorful as the bruising on my butt. Nevertheless, everything looks pretty. We also still have some peonies in bloom.

The rabbits did get three daisy flowers last night, so Marilyn is not happy about that.

QOTD: I guess I will bring the rest of my Spring Mountain Cab, unless I bequeath it to Lisa.

Breakfast: Frittata

Lunch: Steak

Dinner: Chicken Fajitas

Have a great day, all!
