What's on your Wednesday Menu?

Good Morning, Gang! I killed it yesterday--I had a huge to-do list and I'm proud to say everything on it was crossed off by the end of the day. It's equally big today, with a lot more to do on my feet, which sucks. My knee is still swollen and sore and not really getting any better. I know, I know-- I need the MRI, but I keep hoping that I'm just a slow healer and it will go away on its own.
QOTD: Did your career or interests end up with what you thought you would be doing when you were younger? I was thinking about it this weekend when we were at the HS graduation--I know so few people who are working in the industry they majored in or started in. I certainly am not!
I was too tired/overwhelmed to eat yesterday. I literally had an egg bite for breakfast and then three pieces of cheese all day. I think I can do better today.

Good mornin QJB and everyone! QJB please see about your knee! It's better to get it checked out than to let it fester. The sooner you get it fixed up the sooner you get healed.
I get the med switched in my pain pump today. I'm trying to stay optimistic it I am also doing the thing of thinking the worst so I won't be disappointed. Even though I'll still be disappointed if it doesn't work out. My legs have been at the level of 10 for about a week now. I just want some relief. I know there will likely never be a total pain relief...I just want to ease it. This is the only thing or time I've regretted my bariatric surgeries. I wish I could take nsaids. My pain is just so unbearable at time that I honestly don't know how I make it through it. I'm not trying to be weird because I know I am naturally but I just don't know how I function sometimes.
I'm listening to the police scanner as I heard about 3 gun shots about 30 minutes ago very near here. They are chasing something with a drone near here using heat signatures. Comforting.
we've been getting a boatload of rain. Our closest river is in flood stage. It supplies our local lake/reservoir so out lake has gone up almost 5 feet in less than two weeks. It's needed but it's also flooding smaller communities on our area. We got rain around midnight and we're going to get more here in about an hour or less.
QOTD: I never thought I'd stick to chainmaille as much as I have. I never considered myself to be an artist but I have flourished in it and exceeded my small expectations.
I have no clue about food. I know of a slice of leftover pizza.
have a great day y'all!

Thanks! I turned out the light when it happened and went into my bedroom. I've never been a big fan of the sound so it was particularly unnerving to be so close,
I guess I imagined there were always gunshots in Texas.

Gotta admit that I don't pay too much attention to shots fired around here since I live in the country and that comes with guns. I worry the most during hunting season because of accidents.

Oh there is. Texas is so gun happy. I'm just not a fan of it up close. I bet it was the drug house up the street. It just unnerves me when it's so close. You could say I am no fan of guns.

This weekend there will be a lot of activities to draw attention to the need to end gun violence (in case people haven't been paying attention I guess?). I was showing the shirt I have for it to a friend from San Antonio and he said I'd probably get shot in Texas...or they would think I was promoting more guns to end the violence. It's not just there though. Colorado has had several mass shooting events too.

Oh yeah...I know. It's absolutely insane, the gun culture in the United States. Esp the guns like automatic rifles. No one needs them. No one. It's only meant for killing humans. Personally I just don't see the point of most of it. I know some folks that live on farms and in the country are more apt to need shot guns.
