Good Morning everyone! Hope you all had a fantastic weekend. Mine was nice. Low key, but I got lots of things done, relaxed, read a lot, and got to see friends. But today I am back to school full time. I am hoping it will be nice enough for me to do a lot of my school work outside this semester :)

QOTD: How tall are you? And where does your height fall in your family? I am 4'10" and the smallest in my family by far. My parents are both the shortest in their families, too and most of my cousins are actually pretty tall.

B: Protein Coffee & TJs Eggwich

L: Deli Turkey & Cheese Roll-up on Corn Smart Tortilla

S: Pop-chips

D: Chicken Teriyaki Meatballs

Good morning QJB and menuers!

Monday! JB, you're practically done with school! Hope your first week back goes well.

QOTD- I am 5'7.5". I have a small family I'm pretty estranged from but am the tallest in my immediate family. My mother thinks she's 5'4", and that's probably true if you add her signature hair pouf. My father is 5'6" and would be closest. His father was close to six and a half, though.

Yesterday I ate a lot of seafood. Today I'll eat more. Some of it does taste off, so I hope to keep working at it. Today is also my follow up surgery appointment. While I'm closer to in the area, I'll stop to pick up that kit they didn't give me last week. And maybe go by whole paycheck since it's also in the area.

I also learned that TJ's is owned by Aldi and has been since 1979. Had no idea and it was texted to me by a friend. Yay for useless knowledge.

I did get more done yesterday that reminds me how far I've come in a few weeks. I can raise my arms over my head to put things on shelves now. I can pick up something 5 pounds without dropping it immediately. The orthostatic hypotension has improved. Yay!

Exercise - Baby weights

Menu - Leftover tuna steaks, cold lobster salad, crab quiche, shrimp ****tail, protein pudding, hummus with pretzel crisps.

Have a great day, everyone!

I don't think that is correct.

Aldi Nord,

which is one part of a family business owns TJs and Aldi Sud, which is another part of a family business owns Aldi. I believe they were estranged brothers that were competing. I think they are both now in a family trust but neither Aldi nor TJs own each other.

I do use Aldi as an umbrella term for the common brand for sure. I know Aldi Sud isn't very prevalent in the states but Aldi Nord is the one I see here, which is the one TJ'S is an affiliate of. Didn't know anything about management of the brand name by one or the other!

No, the chain just called Aldi is owned by Aldi Sud; Trader Joe's is Aldi Nord so they are both here.

Clearly I am invested in the accuracy of useless information! You might find yourself at a surprise quiz night and this could be the winning question!

Yes - that is correct.

IIRC, the rift between the brothers who owned the original Aldi was over either cigarettes or alcohol (can't remember which). One brother wanted to carry them, the other did not, so they ended up splitting the business. One became Aldi Nord, the other Aldi Sud. For years, countries typically had one or the other, although I'm not sure if that's still true. But Aldi Nord is TJ's in the US.

Cigarettes! And they split the European countries but not so much the US. I think TJs is much smaller, Like under 1k stores and Aldi is over 2k. What was funny to me is that I think the TJs brother wanted the cigarettes and I tend to think of TJs as pretty crunchy so would expect it to be anti cigarette..but the 60s and 70s were long ago, lol.

We would have to sell more than just ham, at least the whole line of pork products
