Good mornin everyone!
Not much to report on this morning. I'm hurting really badly but we have a few things to do today. I'm in a rather cruddy mood. My brother and SIL are on my every last nerve. The laziness
the pain pump is definitely going to go. I'm over it by now.
QOTD: I use two top sheets only. I like to sleep in cold. Blankets weigh to much too.
food is unplanned at best.
my pics are random.

Yay! Tickets just now went on sale, and I got great seats to Bruce ****burn in Portland Maine, October 23. Portland, baby! (And that means lobster rolls for JB).
My screen name, Grim Traveller, comes from a Bruce ****burn song.

Good morning. My last day in Illinois. Today we head for the Gateway Arch for a couple days. We did see the Lincoln Tomb and the FLW Dana-Thomas house and had a wonderful lunch in Springfield. FYI -the "Dana" of the house was a Suffragette who inherited a ton of money, over three million back in the day and gave FLW a blank check to build the home. And she was a party girl. Four different areas for bands to set up, duck pin bowling in the basement, beautiful gathering places to hang out and a dining room to seat forty. Wow.
I did very well all around on food. I have a bunch of photos. I'm sorry, but I need to do meet cute with Jim and then Springfield highlights, so I'm trying to keep the words to a low roar.
QoTD: definitely a top sheet and it must be placed pretty edge face down so that when I fold back the covers to place the pillows and shams the fancy edge of the sheet shows.
photos.
the infamous pineapple cups, all of us at the Aviary, cheers to Rog and Jim, Cubbies game just at the end when it started to really get cold, entering Wrigley Field, The Lincoln Tomb, rubbing Abe's nose for luck. Evans Tomb...anybody else see anything odd about this? the gravesite of the inventor of the Corn Dog. I would have loved this man if he designed it! And finally, the FLW house. No inside photos were allowed, for which I bet you are grateful right about now. Peace Everybody!

That's a great trip!
MIT has hallways with bronze plaques of famous MIT people going back 170 years or so. Among the oldest plaques there is only one of a woman. Students for a century would rub her bronze breasts for luck going to exams, and they were as shiny as Abe's nose is. I know they were trying very hard to make them stop, but I don't know if they've succeeded. I hope so.
